DC/DC converter is optimised for IGBT, SiC and MOSFET drives
Isolated 6W dual output DC/DC converters from Murata Power Solutions are optimised to suit the bipolar voltages required for high-side and low-side IGBT, SiC and MOSFET gate drive applications. The MGJ6 series is available in SIP, DIP and a low profile surface mount package format.
Slashing costs and shrinking footprints
A deeply integrated intelligent power module for 600V applications has been launched by Vincotech. The flowIPM 1B CIP 600V features the combination of a high speed F5 IGBT with the switching performance of a MOSFET and a silicon carbide boost diode in the PFC circuit optimised for frequencies up to 150kHz.
Medium voltage multi-level IGBT drives are smallest in class
The HIVECTOL-HVI-E2 series has been introduced by Hitachi, to expand its product line of HIVECTOL-HVI medium voltage multi-level IGBT drives, which contribute to energy conservation in process plants, as well as improvements in productivity and quality. Sale of E2 series, the smallest in class, will start on October 1st.
Company's FS IGBT expertise in NEV market accelerates chip production
It has been announced that Hua Hong Semiconductorwill leverage its expertise in IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology to tap potentials in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market and accelerate the local production of chips for NEVs.
Resistor choppers help to slow overspeeding fans
It is always better to be safe than sorry, and this is definitely the case with braking resistors and fans. When fans are operating in a closed system, a situation may arise where one fan will over-speed the next and the DC bus voltage on their motor drives will then rise. John Mitchell, business development manager of CP Automation, reports on the case of GA Pet Food Partners in Leyland, Lancashire.
Littelfuse to acquire select product portfolio from ON Semiconductor
Littelfuse has entered into definitive agreements to acquire the product portfolio of Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) diodes, switching thyristors and Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) for automotive ignition applications from ON Semiconductor for a combined purchase price of $104m. This portfolio has annualised sales of approximately $55m. The transactions are expected to close in late August, 2016.
Schottky barrier rectifiers deliver fast switching speed
MBR Series Schottky Barrier Rectifiers, the latest Littelfuse devices based on silicon Schottky diode technology, are available at Rutronik. The two new series are designed to meet the general requirements of commercial and industrial applications. These Schottky Barrier Rectifiers come with extremely fast switching speed, very low forward voltage drop, low leakage and high junction temperature capability.
