Silver flexible circuits create narrow traces on PET
The capability to print high-performing Silver Flexible Circuits on economical polyester substrates with traces as narrow as 0.13mm (.005”) and spacing as small as 0.13mm (.005”) has been developed by Molex. The process creates a viable, cost-effective alternative to traditional flexible circuits, etched copper traces on polyimide and PCBs.
Polymicro Technologies optical fibre onboard ICESat-2
Molex is proud to announce that its Polymicro Technologies optical fibre is being used to build NASA’s Ice, Cloud and Land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2). The satellite, slated for launch in 2017 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, will measure changes in Earth features, from melting ice sheets and thinning sea ice to growing trees. The specialty optical fibre from Molex will be used on board ICESat-2 and in Ground Support ...
Cables tested and certified for compatibility with food industry
Molex announced that Flamar, a Molex company, has launched a complete line of standard industrial automation cables for signal and control equipment and processes, servomotors, I/O modules, EtherNet/IP and other network applications.
SMT headers suited for connected vehicle applications
Extending its high-speed HSAutolink Connection System, Molex has announced a surface mount version of its right-angle header, offering an additional mounting option for manufacturing process optimisation. The ruggedised, industry-standard USCAR-30 header meets all USB2.0, LVDS and Ethernet BroadR-Reach electrical and EMI shielding requirements for the connected vehicle segment in automotive and commercial vehicle applications.
M12 cordsets & receptacles feature 16A per pin current carrying capacity
Molex has introduced Brad M12 Power F-Coded cordsets and receptacles, featuring an industry-leading current carrying capacity of up to 16.0A per pin with a blind-mate key design. While the products were developed to meet the growing power requirements of motors, solenoid-operated valves, actuation equipment and 24V DC auxiliary power systems in automation control systems, they are also well suited for LED lighting and commercial vehicle...
Molex to acquire Phillips-Medisize Corporation
Molex LLC announced today that one of its subsidiaries has entered into a binding agreement to acquire Phillips-Medisize Corporation. A global leader in outsource design, development and manufacturing services for the medical industry, Phillips-Medisize is a portfolio company of Golden Gate Capital, a private equity investment firm based in San Francisco, CA with approximately $15 billion of capital under management. The agreement is subject...
Continuous coil wires enable epilepsy control brain implant
Epilepsy, a neurological condition that causes repeated seizures also known as fits, can occur in people anywhere and at any time without warning. Neurone cells use electrical impulses to communicate with each other and during a fit, the electrical impulses in the brain are disrupted.
Updated mezzanine system offers data rates of 56Gb/s
Updating its modular mezzanine interconnect to deliver faster data rates and improved performance, Molex has announced that the NeoScale High-Speed Mezzanine System offers clean signal integrity at data rates of 56Gb/s NRZ. The modular mezzanine interconnect is suited for high-density PCB applications with limited real estate including enterprise networking towers, telecomms hubs and servers, industrial controllers and medical & aerospace/def...
Molex announces inaugural Transcend Alliance partners
Molex has announced that six partners have joined the new Transcend Alliance, a consortium of companies working together to expand and promote the use of network connected lighting in commercial buildings by developing and implementing new systems and protocols. New integrated lighting network solutions, such as the Transcend connected lighting system from Molex, are rapidly becoming an integral part of commercial building design. Companies like ...
Receptacle offers a TPA integrally moulded with the housing
