At Southern Manufacturing 2015, Harwin will be exhibiting its two latest products: the M300 durable power connector family and the EZ-Shield Cans. The knowledgeable Harwin team will be on hand throughout the show on Stand E110 to discuss customer requirements and its interconnect and PCB hardware product portfolios.

A cost effective alternative to turned PCB sockets, EZ-Board sockets are designed for SMT assembly and are suited for high volume applications. The components come in industry standard tape & reel packaging, allowing them to be automatically placed which minimises installed cost.

Enabling designers to rapidly construct PCB cans at minimal cost for development purposes, Harwin now offers its EZ-Shield Can EMC protection screening products in kit form. To form an EMC cage around sensitive ICs and electronic circuitry, the company's EZ-Shield Cans are simply pressed onto pre-positioned surface mount EZ-Shield Clips. This saves expensive, labour-intensive secondary assembly and facilitates reworking.

  Designed to provide protection for sensitive PCB circuitry against RFI and EMI at board level, the S02 series of low profile RFI shield cans has been released by Harwin. Depending on frequency and configuration, attenuation performance of up to 24dB can be achieved.

In response to demands from customers requiring a resilient power connector, Harwin, has launched a family of high density power connectors that can handle currents up to 10A and withstand temperatures between -65degrees C and 175 degrees C. Based on a 3mm pitch, the M300 connectors are designed for rugged environments and withstand twice the number of operations as older generation products.

Expanding the company's EZ-BoardWare PCB socket portfolio, Harwin has added a contact accommodating 0.8-1.5mm diameter mating pins. Suited for high volume applications, the EZ-Board sockets are a cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets. The components are supplied in industry-standard tape & reel packaging, allowing them to be automatically placed to minimise cost.

Harwin has doubled the current rating of the power contacts available for use in its Datamate Mix-Tek mixed-technology connector series from 20A to 40A. More, up to 12 of the new high current contacts can be used in one Datamate Mix-Tek housing, with devices spec’d for use at high temperatures up to +150degC (with derating).

Harwin has taken delivery of equipment worth £500,000 at its Portsmouth manufacturing headquarters facilitating further production efficiencies and enabling the company to remain competitive. The new investment with automatic stamping press maker, Bruderer, sees Harwin achieve a world first with the integration of a planetary gearbox into the shaft of the main stamping press motor.
