Harwin has invested more than £1M recently in new manufacturing equipment at its worldwide headquarters and manufacturing centre in Portsmouth, UK. Harwin announces the launch of an IP68-rated version of its HotShoe connector technology which enables rapid and simple connection. Available in standard 8, 12 and 16 way versions, HotShoe connectors employ spring-loaded contacts which maintain a positive contact force against the mating half of the connector, ensuring reliable connection even under the most demanding conditions.

Harwin has introduced a new high-reliability connector family based on a 1.25mm pitch. Named Gecko, the new connectors have benefited from Harwin’s exceptional track record of manufacturing high-reliability connectors for safety-critical applications.

Adding to Datamate’s existing wire sizes of 22awg (large bore) & 24-28 awg small bore, the new additions to the range feature an extra-small bore, female crimp contact, suitable for use with 28, 30 and 32 AWG wire.

Harwin has expanded its EZ-BoardWare range of PCB hardware products with four new coin cell holders. As with all the EZ-BoardWare products, the EZ Coin Cell Holders - which cover battery sizes BR1225/CR1225 and BR2032/CR2032 (12.5 and 20.0mm diameter) - are designed to reduce manufacturing costs by eliminating time-consuming secondary assembly operations.
