150Mb/s LTE Category 4 modem supports FDD-LTE in band 28
u-blox has announcedTOBY-L280, the first LTE Category 4 rugged module in an LGA package that supports FDD-LTE in frequency band 28. Band 28 is now in commercial use in Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand, with further rollouts planned throughout the Asia Pacific region, Brazil and Argentina. Capable of download speeds up to 150Mb/s, u-blox says that the TOBY-L280 is the world’s fastest and smallest modem of its kind.
DSP targets IoT & wearable SoCs
Suitable for applications requiring merged controller plus DSP computation, ultra-low energy and a small footprint, the Tensilica Fusion DSP has been released by Cadence Design Systems. Based on the Xtensa customisable processor, the device can be designed into SoCs for wearable activity monitoring, indoor navigation, context-aware sensor fusion, secure local wireless connectivity, face trigger, voice trigger and voice recognition.
Multistandard test solution presented at Bluetooth event
The Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 wideband radio communication tester is the only instrument to support all 38 RF signaling tests specified by the Bluetooth SIG together with other cellular technologies such as LTE, LTE-A, WCDMA, GSM, CDMA2000 as well as non-cellular technologies such as WLAN and GNSS.
