Vishay Intertechnology to exhibit at APEC 2015
At APEC 2015, Vishay Intertechnology will be highlighting its latest power MOSFET, passive component and diode technologies for a wide range of applications.
Rectifiers increase power density in SMF package
Six rectifiers, which offer an increased power density in the compact, low-profile, surface-mount SMF eSMP package, have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Alongside forward currents of 1 and 2A, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices provide low forward voltage drops and leakage currents, reducing power losses and improving efficiency in automotive applications.
Super-slim rectifiers save space, weight & energy
Helping miniaturise electronic control modules, power converters and motor drives, STMicroelectronics has introduced a family of automotive-qualified high-voltage ultrafast rectifiers. The devices' extremely low profile, light weight and -40 to +175°C operating temperature range support space-efficient vehicle electronics and equipment installed in harsh environments, such as mobile basestations and outdoor lighting.
How hybrid relays can simplify compliance
How hybrid relays combine mechanical and solid-state technologies to deliver the best of both worlds, while making it simpler to comply with the latest legislation for energy-using devices. By Benoit Renard, SCR/Triac Application Engineer, & Laurent Gonthier, SCR/Triac Application Manager, STMicroelectronics.
Rectifiers feature vacuum welding technology
America Semiconductor has announced the availability of a series ofhigh-power standard recovery rectifiers in a DO4 package. Offered in stud cathode and stud anode versions, the parts may be ordered with current ratings of 6-25A, and feature vacuum welding technology, low power waste and low thermal resistance.
Compact rectifiers improve automotive efficiency
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced six rectifiers in the compact, low-profile, surface-mount SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP package. Offering forward currents of 1 and 2A as well as low forward voltage drops and leakage currents, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices reduce power losses and improve efficiency in automotive applications.
Design support offered for industry’s lowest loss switches
GeneSiC Semiconductor announces the availability of Gate Driver evaluation board and has expanded its design support for what it calls thethe industry’s lowest loss switches, the SiC Junction Transistor (SJT), with a fully-qualified LTSPICE IV model.Using the Gate Driver Board, power conversion circuit designers can verify the benefits of sub-15ns, temperature independent switching characteristics of SiC Junction Transistors, with low drive...
Electrolube debut coatings & resins at electronica 2014
At electronica 2014, last week, Electrolube exhibited for the first time. In Hall A6, which was dedicated to the automotive sector, the company presented its conformal coatings, resins and contact lubricant products. Hall B1 was dedicated to sensors, micro- and nano-systems, MEMS technologies and electromechanical/system peripherals, whereElectrolube demonstrated its capabilities in thermal management.
WCR tolerates high pulses up to 5000W for 10s
Designed for high-power applications, a WCR (Water-Cooled wirewound Resistor) has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. The WCR tolerates high pulses of up to 5000W for 10s and offers very high power dissipation of up to 2500W at a water inlet temperature of 60°C.
