DC/DC converter suits data-intensive applications
Ericsson has introduced a DC/DC converter module based on the company’s innovative power topology known as Hybrid Regulated Ratio (HRR) technology. The latest member of the PKM-NH series, the PKM4817LNH has been optimised for parallel operation to power 2200W boards in extremely data-intensive applications in the datacomms industry.
AC/DC rectifiers provide a power density of 12kW per 1U
A line of 1U, 6kW, 54V AC/DC power rectifiers, designed for power-intensive three-phase applications, has been introduced by GE’s Critical Power business. The power rectifier line includes GE’s GP100R compact, module for data centre and telecomms rack or cabinet mounting, and its GP100M for embedded data, networking and industrial power supply solutions.
MOSFETs target hybrid & plug-in hybrid EVs
MOSFET and rectifier families, designed to enable cleaner and smarter vehicles, have been introduced by Fairchild. The devices are particularly suitable for increasing the power ratings of onboard chargers and DC/DC converters used in hybrid and plug-in hybrid EVs.
3.5kW AC to 48V DC rectifier is housed in a 1U module
The industry’s first compact 3.5kW AC to 48V DC rectifier in a 1U module has been introduced by GE. Compared to traditional 2-3kW rectifiers housed in similar 1U rack or cabinet mountings, the CP3500 provides a higher power-to-space ratio.
Transistors & rectifiers exhibit high temperature performance
GeneSiC has announced a line of compact, high temperature SiC Junction Transistors (SJTs) and a line of rectifiers in TO-46 metal cans. These discrete components are designed to operate at temperatures of over 225°C. The use of high voltage, low RDS(ON)SiC Transistors and Rectifiers will reduce the size and weight of electronics applications requiring higher power handling at elevated temperatures.
Gresham Power Appoint New Sales Manager
Gresham Power Electronics has appointed Dave Wellman as their new Sales Manager. Dave will be responsible for sales of Gresham’s wide range of commercial power supply products and will run their European distribution network.
Rectifiers increase electronic charge efficiency
Enabling higher integration and efficiency in portable chargers, two synchronous rectifiers combining a driver circuit with an internal MOSFET have been released by Diodes Incorporated. Providing cost effective rectification with reduced power dissipation and using fewer external components, the APR3415 and APR34330 are suitable for applications including adapters/chargers for cellular and cordless phones, ADSL modems and MP3 players.
Silicon diodes are 'world's fastest'
A series of 150V silicon diodes, claimed to be the fastest in the world, has been introduced by Power Integrations. According to the company, the Qspeed–based LQA150 diodes have the lowest junction capacitance and reverse recovery charge on the market, which are respectively 60% and 40% lower than trench Schottky devices.
