6.1mm cable for aerospace assemblies reduces insertion loss
W. L. Gore & Associates has enhanced the GORE-FLIGHT Microwave Assembly, 6 Series portfolio with a smaller diameter cable of just 6.1mm (0.24"), delivering the lowest insertion loss for an assembly using size 8 RF contacts. Reliable performance throughout the life of the system is offered, as insertion loss is maintained during and after installation.
Low power VCO features excellent phase noise
The RoHS compliant V590ME09-LF VCO, from Z-Communications, features excellent phase noise and low power consumption, making it well suited for microwave radio and test equipment applications that require low phase noise performance. The oscillator operates over the frequency range of 850-1050MHz within 0.5-5.0V of tuning, with an average tuning gain of 63MHz/V.
RF mixer is claimed to consume up to 30% less power
Delivering RF technology that reduces distortion in LTE and time-division duplexing systems while minimising power consumption, the F1178 RF mixer has been released by Integrated Device Technology. Improving third order intercept point (IP3O) by up to 8dB, the device is claimed to consume up to 30% less power than competing devices, at 1.4W.
RF Energy Alliance unveiled at European Microwave Week
NXP Semiconductor is amongst a group of companies that have come together to form the RF Energy Alliance announced at European Microwave Week. Joining NXP in the launch are EGO Elektro-Gerätebau, Huber+Suhner, ITW, Rogers Corporation and Whirlpool R&D (an affiliate company of Whirlpool Corporation).
Solid-state RF power transistors modernise microwave ovens
The 250WMHT1003N and 350WMHT1002N RF power transistors, designed for consumer and commercial microwave oven appliance OEMs, have been released by Freescale Semiconductor. While theMHT1003N provides58% power added efficiency for 2.45GHz microwave oven applications, theMHT1002N provides63% for 915MHz microwave applications.
Whitepaper explores 25W X-band GaN PA MMIC design
Plextek RFI has published a whitepaper on the design of a 25W X-band Gallium Nitride (GaN) PA MMIC (Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit). This case study describes the design and performance of a 25W X-band GaN PA MMIC designed on WIN Semiconductor's 0.25μm GaN on SiC process.
RF switch offers high isolation & linearity
Providing a combination of low insertion loss, high isolation and linearity, the F2912 RF switch has been introduced by Integrated Device Technology. Achieving broad bandwidth without sacrificing performance, the device operates over a frequency range from 300KHz to 8GHz. The switch provides low path loss without compromising isolation performance with a low IL of 0.4dB.
AVX expands partnership with Modelithics
With the release of 45 Modelithics substrate scalable equivalent circuit models, AVX has expanded its partnership with Modelithics. When used in combination with electronic design automation tools, including Keysight ADS, Keysight Genesys and NI AWR Microwave Office, the highly accurate models speed up design decisions and circuit level optimisations.
D/A converter slashes E-Band development costs
Analog Devices’ new 2.8-GSPS dual 16-bit converter is aimed at telecommunications system manufacturers that require microwave frequencies in point-to-point wireless backhaul equipment. The 16-bit AD9136 and 11-bit AD9135 dual D/A converters achieve up to 70 percent higher signal bandwidth than competing devices while enabling designers to support emerging E-band (71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz) frequencies being adopted by wireless carriers to sup...
