MLCCs provide capacitance tolerance down to ± 0.05pF
The QUAD HIFREQ series of high-power MLCCs, manufactured by Vishay Intertechnology, have been enhanced. The MLCCs feature non-magnetic copper terminations (code "C"), an extended capacitance range down to 0.1pF in the 0505 case size and 0.2pF in the 1111 size, and tighter capacitance tolerance down to ± 0.05pF (code "V").
RF amplifiers remove the need for RF tuning components
Eight linear amplifiers, designed to provide accurate signal amplification for a wide range of applications, have been introduced by Pasternack Enterprises. The high power amplifiers, which are GaAs PHEMT MMIC-based, are suitable for commercial and defence applications such as communications, radar and sensor, test instrumentation, telecomm infrastructure, fixed microwave backhaul and commercial two-way radio.
Vector network analysers cover up to 40GHz
“It does what it says on the tin”. That’s how Jonathan Borrill, Anritsu’s Director of Market, EMEA described the company’s new ShockLine family of Vector Network Analysers (VNAs). “We took a step back and decided less is more,” says Borrill. The result is a family of mid-range VNAs at a much lower cost that will handle the basic RF test requirements of an engineer.
Switch & chip integrate RF, digital & analogue components
Integrating RF, digital and analogue components onto a single chip, a True SPDT DC switch and an X-band core chip have been released by Peregrine Semiconductor. The products, which are built on the company's UltraCMOStechnology, offer performance advantages in high-performance markets through intelligent integration.
Vector signal analyser offers up to 765MHz bandwidth
NI arrived at European Microwave Week brandishing a new high-performance 26.5 GHz microwave vector signal analyser (VSA) and a fast tuning 20 GHz continuous wave signal generator. The two instruments combine to complement NI’s modular instruments offering and expand the measurement capabilities of the PXI platform.
Radar-cross section simulation demonstrated at EuMW 2014
At European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2014, CST will be demonstrating the radar-cross section (RCS) simulation feature now available in it's updated electromagnetic simulation tool. The CST STUDIO SUITE is used by aerospace and defence companies and government agencies for mission-critical applications.
EuMW 2014: Radar target simulator eyes automotive market
Rohde & Schwarz chose European Microwave Week to take the wraps off an agreement to sell the ARTS turnkey radar target simulator from ITS and miro-sys. The market target is automotive radar now being installed in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), to quickly and precisely measure the speed and distance of multiple objects, regardless of weather conditions.
EuMW 2014: E-Band driver amplifier unveiled
At European Microwave Week, MACOM has strengthened its hand in the backhaul point-to-point radio space with the introduction of a 4 stage E-Band driver amplifier that builds on its previous MAAP-011106 E-Band Power amplifier release in early March. Delivering typical Psat of 24 dBm for the 71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz frequency ranges in a single product, the device is ideal for high capacity macro cell and small cell backhaul point to point radios.
EuMW2014:Power sensors span -70dBm to +26dBm dynamic range
Keysight Technologies’ U2040 X-Series wide dynamic range power sensors made their debut at European Microwave Week. The series consists of four USB models for wireless and radar applications, and a dedicated LAN model for satellite testing. The 96 dB dynamic range, spanning -70 dBm to +26 dBm, enables accurate power measurements of very small signals, critical for applications such as wireless chipset and power amplifier module manufacturin...
3G/4G LTE Gigabit backhaul system on show at EuMW
At European Microwave Week 2014, in booth 152, Infineon is presenting a full system design for the wireless connection of base stations to the corresponding base station controller of a mobile communications network. Based on Infineon’s E-/V-band transceiver family, the wireless backhaul system design offers maximum flexibility and competitiveness by allowing network operators to continuously upgrade in the field.
