Flameproof through hole resistors for high power applications
A power metal film through hole resistor designed for high power and pulse power applications has been introduced by Stackpole. The RSPF series is available in power ratings from 1/4 up to 3W with one percent tolerance available. This series offers resistance values from 2.2Ω up to 1MΩ, and the coating is flame proof per UL94V-0.
The cutting edge of resistor technology
Cressall has purchased an automated fibre laser cutter to ensure its resistors are at the highest level of quality possible. The machine, which has seen an investment of over £0.5 million, will also improve efficiency, with process speed expected to increase fivefold. The equipment, which has been purchased from machine manufacturer Salvagnini, is part of Cressall’s long-term strategy to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of r...
Resistors, diodes address key design challenges
Resistors, capacitors and diodes to help design engineers optimise their end products and address key design challenges such as scale, performance and cost have been added to the Farnell element14 portfolio. They represent the Super 12 range which is released annually by Vishay and consists of six semiconductors and six passive components with advanced technology capabilities.
Electrolytic capacitors offer enhanced ripple current
Two new series of high-performance electrolytic capacitors manufactured by Panasonic are in stock at RS Components. Offering excellent characteristics for a wide variety of applications, the V-TC and V-TCU series of aluminium electrolytic capacitors are specialised miniaturised components offering ripple current and high capacitance.
Automotive qualification added to capacitor technology
Global supplier of electronic components, KEMET, has announced the extension of its U2J dielectric for automotive grade applications. With AEC-Q200 automotive qualification, the U2J surface mount (SMD) platform offers more than twice the capacitance available in C0G/NP0. It also offers what it claims to be superior temperature performance over X7R, X8R and X5R, rendering it a suitable capacitor solution for vehicle applications.
