A valuable extension to high temperature MLCCs
One year on from the initial launch of a new range of high temperature MLC chip capacitors, Knowles capacitor brands Novacap and Syfer Technology have jointly announced a significant extension to the product offering. As with the initial launch, this announcement coincided with another IMAPS event – the HiTEN 2017 symposium in Cambridge UK. The Knowles Capacitors HiT range of MLCCs has an operating temperature range of -55 to +200º...
Schottky barrier rectifiers for high-frequency SMPSs
Global circuit protection company, Littelfuse, has introduced a series of Schottky Barrier Rectifiers designed to outperform conventional switching diodes in commercial, industrial and automotive applications. DST Series Schottky Barrier Rectifiers combine ultra-low forward voltage drop, high current handling, high junction temperature capability, and low leakage performance in a compact TO-277B surface mount package.
Electrolytic capacitors function over wide temperature range
A new series of miniature aluminium electrolytic capacitors (radial lead type) has been introduced by Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems Europe for applications such as unit power supply output, noise filtering, DC/DC converter and back-up power. New FS series capacitors benefit from low ESR values (down to 12mΩ), a small footprint (one size smaller than popular FR series components) and high endurance of 5,000-10,000h at 10...
Mission-critical applications met by high-performance resistor
The Model 303337 ultra-high precision military and space-grade resistor from the VPG Foil Resistors product group of Vishay Precision Group offers high-performance current sensing within mission-critical applications. The resistor produces a highly precise voltage that is directly proportional to measured current levels, with significantly reduced component sensitivity to applied power changes, including PCR and thermal resistance values.
Robust stop switches suit hand-held control units
A series of modular emergency stop switches especially suited for handheld control units has been launched by EAO. Designed to reliably protect people from injury and equipment from damage the Series 61 emergency stop switches are also suitable for mounting in remote panels within easy reach of the operator or directly onto a machine itself.
SCR thyristor optimised for phase control applications
Global circuit protection company, Littelfuse, has introduced a series of 40A standard high-temperature silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) thyristors that are suitable for use as switches for rectifier and phase control applications such as voltage regulator, heating and motor speed controls. The new SJxx40x series is the first SCR thyristor from Littelfuse capable of handling 600V, 40Arms and junction temperatures up to 150°C.
Capacitors meet voltage transient critical requirements
Global supplier of electronic components, KEMET, has announced the extension of its T598 range of polymer electrolytic capacitors with new higher voltage rated parts. The addition of 35V devices for capacitance values of 22 and 33 microfarads represents a first-to-market for KEMET. The new AEC-Q200 qualified parts extend the range of automotive applications in which the benefits of polymer electrolytic devices can be utilised, and provi...
Würth supports educational activities about passive components
Würth Elektronik has announced its cooperation with and support for the European Passive Components Institute (EPCI). The cooperation includes the development of easy-to-use web-based tools for designers of passive component hardware, educational tools for schools, and promotion of the passive components industry to everyone interested in this field.
Bourns named one of four top passive component suppliers
Manufacturer and supplier of electronic components, Bourns, has announced it has received a Best Supplier of 2016 Award from Syndicat Professionnel de la Distribution en Electronique Industrielle (SPDEI), the French association of electronic components distributors. The award was given to Bourns as one of the four top suppliers of passive components supporting the French market.
TVS diode arrays protect DC powerlines
A series of TVS diode arrays have been introduced by Littelfuse, optimised to protect DC powerlines for PoweredUSB interfaces from damaging electrostatic discharges (ESDs). SP11xx series TVS diode arrays employ Zener diodes fabricated in a proprietary silicon avalanche technology to protect each I/O pin in the interface.
