Multicore SHARC processors deliver 24GFLOPS under 2W
Delivering peak performance greater than 24GFLOPS using two enhanced SHARC+ cores and advanced DSP accelerators (FFT, FIR, IIR), Analog Devices has announced eight SHARC processors as part of a new, high-performance, power-efficient, real-time series.
Simultaneous sampling SAR ADC offers flexibility
Linear has introduced the LTC2348-18, an 18-bit, 8-channel simultaneous sampling SAR ADC with industry-leading performance and flexibility. While converting eight channels at 200ks/s per channel throughput, each SoftSpan input can be independently configured on a conversion-by-conversion basis to accept ±10.24, 0 to 10.24, ±5.12, or 0 to 5.12V signals.
Current sensor is first to include configurable A/D outputs
At Sensors Expo, Microchip took the opportunity to announce a combined analogue and digital current sensor: the PAC1921. This device is the world’s first high-side current sensor with both a digital and configurable analogue output that can present power, current or voltage over the single output pin. Simultaneously, all power-related output values are also available over the 2-Wire digital bus, which is compatible with I2C.
Audio processor suits Ambarella-based IP cameras & wearables
Designed specifically for Ambarella camera SoCs, the Timberwolf audio processor from Microsemi has been engineered to be the best-in-class HD audio solution for Ambarella’s suite of video processors. The audio processor is designed with AcuEdge acoustic technology on Microsemi’s innovative Timberwolf DSP platform, which features a set of complex, fully integrated algorithms that allow users to extract intelligible information from the...
FMC features four re-timers
An FMC (FPGA Mezzanine Card) per VITA 57 for high-speed networking has been released by VadaTech. Alongside quad SFP/SFP+ transceivers for 10GbE in copper or fibre formats, the FMC109 features four re-timers, which provide tuning for the Tx and Rx signals.
Microphone range offers sensitivity & versatility
PCB Piezotronics has announced the availability of many of its most popular microphones on less than five day delivery. In addition to the fast delivery and low pricing, the majority of models are offered complete with five year warranty. PCB Piezotronics’ microphone range includes surface models and side vented types, and the company will also introducing several models in the near future.
USB to FIFO bridge ICs offer alternative to Ethernet
Designed for projects that demand SuperSpeed data transfer, FTDI’s latest USB3.0-to-FIFO solutions, including ICs and development boards, are now being shipped by RS Components. The FT600Q and FT601Q USB-to-FIFO bridge ICs enable USB3.0 SuperSpeed and USB2.0 High Speed data exchange with high-performing devices such as multi-function printers, high-speed/high-resolution video cameras, medical and industrial imaging systems, still image...
Analogue decoder addresses ADAS contrast challenge
Intersil has released the AEC-Q100 qualified TW9992 automotive analogue video decoder, which features an integrated MIPI-CSI2 output interface, offering compatibility with the latest SoC processors. The decoder’s MIPI-CSI2 interface simplifies design by making it easier to interface with SoCs, while also lowering the system’s EMI profile.
Signal ASICs for inline processes
To meet the demand for signal electronics for fast real-time signal conversion in inline processes, MAZeT has expanded its range of signal ASICs. The range comprises the MTI04 and MTI08 TransImpedance Amplifiers (TIAs) and analogue converters and the MDDC04AQ and MCDC04EQ current-to-digital converters.
Receiver down-converter MMIC uses 50% less power for 3dB improvement
Combining low noise performance, high linearity and low power consumption, Analog Devices has introduced a highly integrated, 4-channel, 24GHz receiver down-converter MMIC, the ADF5904. The multichannel device achieves a 10dB noise figure that is 3dB better than competing devices while using 50% less power, according to ADI, and is assembled in a small, cost-effective 5x5mm LFCSP plastic package.
