Mixed Signal/Analog
The extreme environments driving design innovation
One of the planet’s most challenging applications is operating in a harsh environment like downhole drilling. Precision equipment designed for this type of application must be able to survive extreme pressure, shock and vibration, as well as offer a small form factor and long battery life. However, perhaps the biggest challenge for design engineers is how protect these functions from the impact of extreme temperatures.
52mm BMR driver provides a 100Hz – 20kHz frequency response
Providing a 100Hz-20kHz frequency response over a 180° dispersion, all within a 52mm diameter, the TEBM35C10-4 BMR driver has been introduced by Tectonic Elements.
Rad hard multiplexers provide outstanding ESD protection
Radiation hardened (rad hard) multiplexers, claimed to offer the industry’s highest signal chain accuracy and timing performance, have been introduced by Intersil. The ISL71840SEH and ISL71841SEH provide outstanding ESD protection.
Quad-channel protector offers ±55V overvoltage protection
A quad-channel protector and two multiplexers offering ±55V overvoltage protection for precision converters, amplifiers and other components that operate from a low voltage of 4.5 up to 36V have been released by Analog Devices.
Attenuators are designed to offer flat attenuation
Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce a line of high quality SMA and N-Type fixed attenuators to its product portfolio. Amphenol attenuators are designed to offer flat attenuation over a designated frequency range and feature a microwave grade resistor that consistently reduces power.
AFE connects multiple sensors to MCUs or FPGAs
A highly integrated sensor interface AFE that provides calibration of sensor outputs has been introduced by Exar. The XR10910 offers an onboard 16:1 differential multiplexer, offset correction DAC, programmable gain instrumentation amplifier and voltage reference. This AFE provides 14-bit signal path linearity and is designed to connect multiple bridge sensors to an MCU or FPGA with an embedded ADC.
Experience ultra-dense sound with physical impact
For the first time, experience ultra-dense sound with physical impact. More than a connected speaker, Phantom emits sound using a revolutionary and inherently superior process created and patented by Devialet engineers: ADH and HBI. Uncover the richness of songs heard a thousand times in all their amplitude, from sub bass at 16hz to ultra sharp sound at 25kHz with no background noise, no saturation, no distortion, all that up to 3,000W and +...
32-bit MCU decoder tools ease audio application development
Microchip announces the PIC32 Harmony Software Decoder Framework and Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA) Decoder Library for 32-bit PIC32 MCU-based consumer-audio application development within the MPLAB Harmony Integrated Software Framework. The WMA Decoder Library includes a modular framework for audio decoders, including support for MP3 and AAC, allowing easier audio application development.
Signal conditioner features a programmable core
The industry’s highest resolution resistive sensing signal conditioner, enabling fast and precise 24-bit measurement of conditions such as pressure, strain, flow or liquid levels, has been introduced by Texas Instruments. The PGA900 offers a programmable core, enabling flexible linearisation and temperature compensation for numerous resistive bridge sensing applications.
VVAs have third order input intercept point
Skyworks introduces a series of Voltage-controlled Variable Attenuators (VVAs) which are designed to have third order input intercept point and superb dynamic range. The devices cover operation from 1.45 to 5.0GHz and have control voltages ranging from 0 to 5.0V.
