15nm NAND flash memories to start mass production
A 15nm process technology, claimed to be the world's first by manufacturer Toshiba, has been developed and will apply to 2-bit-per-cell 128Gb (16GB) NAND flash memories. Mass production utilising the new technology will start at the end of April 2014 at Fab 5 Yokkaichi Operations, Toshiba’s NAND flash fabrication facility (fab). This newly developed 15nm technology will replace the current second generation 19nm process technology...
Count On Tools offers discontinued 702/902 nozzles
Phased out in January 2013, the discontinued 702/902 nozzle for ASM Siplace equipment is being offered by Count On Tools. Due to higher customer demand, COT continued production of the nozzles in anticipation of customers still seeking to use the 702/902 nozzle geometry for 0201 (0.6x0.3mm) and 0402 (1.0x0.5mm) components in their pick-and-place equipment.
UV curable system can be applied vertically without sagging
A UV curable system for bonding, sealing and coating applications, designated the UV15-42C, has been launched by Master Bond. Specially formulated to optimize bond strength, the smooth paste can be applied vertically without sagging. As an optically clear compound, it is often used in the fiber-optic, optical, electronic, aerospace and specialty OEM industries.
Acrylic conformal coating enables wider process window
An acrylic conformal coating, that gives PCB assemblers a wider process window and greater flexibility in their coating operation, has been launched by Techspray. The Fine-L-Kote High Viscosity AR boasts high viscosity, allowing operators to use as-is for dipping, or to thin down for spray systems.
Desktop robot enables focused plasma treatment
A desktop robot for focused plasma treatment, the JOT400 Plasma Cell, has been launched by JOT Automation. The JOT400 Plasma Cell is offered with a programmable path control system which performs cold plasma pre-treatment for products as small as a wristwatch computer up to a 10-inch tablet.
Ink enables circuitry fabrication on wearable substrates
The CI-1062 Conductive Silver Ink, for circuitry fabrication on wearable substrates, has been launched by Engineered Material Systems.
Technology-licensing programme for PCB fabrication
Isola has announced a technology-licensing programme to mitigate conductive anodic filamentation (CAF) problems in the fabrication of PCBs. Offered by Isola USA, this proprietary manufacturing technology reduces the number of voids in resin-impregnated dielectrics - a major source of CAF failures.
Needle valve boasts high dispensing precision
A needle valve, designated the Dymax Model 485, has been made available by Ellsworth Adhesives Europe. The new needle valve by Dymax offers high dispensing precision thanks to its material flow adjustment, which enables shot-to-shot consistency.
Dispensing robots are compatible with all valve types
A line of bench-top dispensing robots, designated the TSR2000 Series, has been launched by Techcon Systems. The robot series is easy to program, simple to operate, and compatible with all valve types and controllers. Designed and configured specifically for fluid dispensing applications, Techcon Systems robots provide total control over fluid placement from beads, arcs and circles to repeated timed dots. Programming is simple via t...
