Ultrafast diodes designed for use as anti-parallel diodes

Vishay Intertechnology has announced 600 and 650V FRED Pt Gen 4 Ultrafast recovery diodes optimised for high-frequency converters in power modules, motor drives, UPS, solar inverters and welding machine inverters. Offered as die in wafer form, The 28 'H' and 'U' series devices offer ultra-low forward voltage and reverse recovery charge to reduce losses and increase efficiency.

Resistors deliver up to 500V in 0805 & 1206 case sizes

A series of thick film chip resistors designed to meet the demand for high voltages in industrial and medical applications while saving valuable PCB space have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. The Vishay Draloric RCV e3 devices offer high limiting element voltages of 400 and 500V in the compact 0805 and 1206 case sizes, respectively.

High-temperature chip resistor is AEC-Q200 qualified

Vishay Intertechnology's PLTT precision high-temperature thin film chip resistor is now available in an AEC-Q200 automotive-qualified 0603 case size. The PLTT 0603 resistor features a wide operating temperature range from -55 to +230°C, a low absolute TCR down to ±5ppm/°C and laser-trimmed tolerances down to ±0.02%.

AEC-Q200-qualified resistors have low TCR tracking

AEC-Q200-qualified, high-precision, dual-in-line, thin film resistor networks from Vishay Intertechnology have low TCR tracking of ± 5ppm/°C. The AORN series also have tight ratio tolerances to ± 0.05% and long-term ratio stability of 0.015 % after 1,000 hours at +155°C. Capacitor delivers high power for hybrid assemblies

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a thin film bar MOS capacitor designed for use in high-power hybrid assemblies and SiC/GaN applications. The BRCP offers high power handling and operating voltage up to 100V in two compact case sizes measuring 3.048x0.889 and 6.096x0.889mm (0.12x0.035 and 0.24x0.035"), allowing for smaller product designs without sacrificing performance.

Resistors offer four times the power dissipation

Vishay Intertechnology has extended its RCWE series of thick film surface-mount wraparound chip resistors with devices in the 0612 and 1020 case sizes. Providing four times the power dissipation of standard devices in equivalent 1206 and 2010 footprints, the RCWE0612 and RCWE1020 saves space and reduces component counts in telecommunications, computer, industrial and consumer applications.

10-30A rectifiers provide fast & soft recovery characteristics

Vishay has introduced 16 10-30A FRED Pt Hyperfast and Ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the low-profile SMPD (TO-263AC) package. Combining extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics with low leakage current and low forward voltage drop, the rectifiers reduce switching losses and over-dissipation in automotive and telecomms applications while providing a high-density alternative to the TO-263 (D²PAK) package.

High-speed 940nm IR emitters reduce component count

Built on the company's SurfLight surface emitter chip technology, a high-speed 940nm IR emitter has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. The devices are claimed to provide up to five times greater radiant intensity than standard IR emitters, reducing component counts, improving performance and lowering solution costs in a wide range of IR illumination, data transmission and gesture recognition applications.

Leadless thermistor dies use IGBT-style mounting

Vishay has introduced two leadless NTC thermistor dies, contacted on the top and bottom, that provide designers with the same mounting options as IGBT semiconductors. Featuring gold metallisation, the NTCC300E4 supports gold wire bonding and conductive adhesive gluing, while the NTCC200E4 with silver metallisation supports aluminium wire bonding and is compatible with reflow soldering and nano-silver paste sintering.

Tantalum capacitors available in J, P, UA & UB case sizes

Solid tantalum, surface-mount, molded chip capacitors in small case sizes have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. The Vishay Polytech TMCJ and TMCP are offered in the J (1608-09) and P (2012-12) case sizes, respectively, while the TMCU is available in the ultra-flat, low-profile UA (3216-12) and UB (3528-12).

A space-/power-saving alternative to D²PAK & DPAK

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced an 8x8x1.8mm PowerPAK 8x8L package designed to provide a high-current, space- and power-saving alternative to D²PAK and DPAK devices commonly used in automotive applications. The SQJQ402E 40V TrenchFET MOSFET is claimed to be the industry's first AEC-Q101-qualified MOSFET to use this 8x8mm footprint and the first in an 8x8mm package with gull-wing leads for mechanical stress relief.

Ultra-low capacitance ESD protection diode saves board space

Vishay has released a Bidirectional Symmetrical (BiSy) single-line ESD protection diode for portable electronics in the ultra-compact CLP0603 package. Measuring only 0.6x0.3x0.27mm, the VBUS05B1-SD0 offers ultra-low capacitance and leakage current for the protection of high-speed data lines and antennas against transient voltage signals.

Wet tantalum capacitor is DLA approved for avionics

Approved to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) drawing 15005, a tantalum-cased wet tantalum capacitor with a glass-to-tantalum hermetic seal has been introduced by Vishay. For avionics and aerospace systems, the device is claimed to be the industry's first wet tantalum capacitor approved to DLA 15005 to combine a reverse voltage of 1.5V at +85°C with improved vibration (sine: 50g; random: 27.7g) capability and thermal shock of 300 cycles.

MOSFET extends battery life in portable applications

Convert solar UV light intensity to digital data

Dual inductor is first to operate up to +155°C

Offering two inductors in one 4032 package, Vishay Intertechnology has announced that the automotive-grade IHLD-4032KB-5A is the industry's first dual inductor to operate up to +155°C. The device is optimised for automotive and commercial class D amplifier circuits, where it reduces board space requirements and offers improved performance compared to multiple discrete inductors.
