MIL-PRF-123-qualified MLCCs offer extreme reliability
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a series of surface-mount MultiLayer Ceramic chip Capacitors (MLCCs), qualified to MIL-PRF-123 for aerospace and military applications. These high-reliability Vishay Vitramon devices are manufactured in Vishay's MIL-STD-790-certified (Cage Code SHV71) facility and are available with BP and BX dielectrics in seven body sizes ranging from 0805 to 2225 and with capacitance as low as 1.0pF.
IR emitting diodes offer powerful illumination
Vishay Intertechnology is broadening its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of two SurfLight high-speed infrared emitting diodes in compact 3.2x1.6x1.1mm SMT, top-view packages. Based on Vishay's GaAIAs surface emitter chip technology, the Vishay Semiconductors 850nm VSMY12850 and 940nm VSMY12940 combine high radiant intensity and optical power with fast switching times.
PTC thermistors offer accurate remote overtemperature sensing
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a series of mini radial-leaded Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) sensing thermistors. Featuring body diameters of under 4.0mm, a wide range of well-defined temperature levels from +80 to +150°C, and standard ±5°C tolerances, devices in the Vishay BCcomponents PTCSL03 series are designed to provide compact and accurate remote over-temperature sensing.
ESD protection diodes are offered in the SOT-323 package
Bidirectional symmetrical (BiSy) ESD protection diodes in the compact SOT-323 package have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. Measuring only 2.3x2.1mm with a low 0.95mm profile, the space-saving Vishay Semiconductors single-line VLIN26A1-03G and dual-line VCAN26A2-03G offer low capacitance and leakage current for the protection of automotive data lines against transient voltage signals.
Thick film chip resistors target RF applications
Designed for high-power, surface-mount RF applications, the RCP series of thick film chip resistors from Vishay Intertechnology is now available in the compact 0505, 0603 and 2512 case sizes. The devices offer very high thermal conductivity for power ratings up to 22W with active temperature control.
Ultrafast recovery rectifiers increase power density
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced four 1 and 2A FRED Pt Ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the compact low-profile SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP series package. Combining extremely fast and soft recovery characteristics with low leakage current and low forward voltage drop, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices reduce switching losses and power dissipation in automotive and telecomms applications.
Polymer tantalum capacitors offer greatly reduced ESR
Vishay Intertechnology has enhanced its T55 series of vPolyTan SMT polymer tantalum moulded chip capacitors with eight new ratings in the A, B, and T (low-profile B - 1.2mm max.) case sizes. Taking advantage of Vishay's package technology and recent investments in polymer tantalum technology, the Vishay Polytech T55 series offers significantly higher capacitance and lower ESR for computer, telecomms and industrial applications.
Power metal strip resistor offers 1W power rating
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a SMT Power Metal Strip resistor featuring a 1W power rating in the compact 0805 package size. Designed to save space in automotive and computer applications, the WSLP0805...18 combines its high power-to-footprint-size ratio with extremely low resistance values down to 0.005Ω.
10kV pulse strength increases capacitor reliability
Extending its VY1 series of AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors, Vishay Intertechnology has announced devices offering reduced sizes and higher pulse strength up to 10kV. The VY1 Compact series is designed for RFI and AC line filtering applications in power supplies, power and smart meters, white goods and consumer electronics.
Platinum sensors reliably measure in-car temperature
Vishay Intertechnology has announced an AEC-Q200-qualified version of its PTS series of platinum SMD flat chip temperature sensors. Designed to provide accurate and stable temperature sensing for automotive, space, and industrial electronics, Vishay Beyschlag PTS AT series devices combine enhanced thermal cycling performance with higher operating temperatures to +175°C.
Tiny plastic housing speeds prototype development
Vishay Intertechnology has broadened its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of a miniature plastic housing for the rapid prototyping of reflective presence and proximity sensors. The housing is uniquely designed to provide optical isolation between a 3mm (T1) infrared emitter and any of Vishay's TSSP-type presence or proximity sensors.
20V MOSFET saves space & power in mobile applications
Designed to save space, decrease power consumption and extend battery life, a TrenchFET 20V n-channel MOSFET unveiled by Vishay is available in the chipscale MICRO FOOT 0.8x0.8x0.357mm package. The Si8824EDB is claimed to provide the industry's lowest on-resistance for any 20V device with a 1mm2 or less than 0.7mm2 outline. It targets smartphones, tablets, wearable devices, solid-state drives and portable medical devices such as hearing aids.
Precise voltage measurement using fewer components
A series of high-voltage thin film flat chip resistors, the TNPV e3 series, have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. The resistors are claimed to be the industry's first to combine high operating voltages to 1000V with VCR under 1ppm/V, tight tolerances to ±0.1% and TCR down to ±10ppm/K precision properties.
Si-coated wirewound resistors protect against energy surges
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a series of silicone-coated axial lead wirewound resistors. Providing superior short-term energy surge protection compared with standard wirewound devices, Vishay's CW - High Energy series resistors can also be utilised in high-temperature operating conditions up to +350°C.
MELF resistors are available in the 0204 and 0207 case sizes
High-voltage thin film MELF resistors in the 0204 and 0207 case sizes have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Designed for industrial, lighting and medical applications with high stability and reliability requirements, the Vishay Beyschlag MMA 0204 HV and MMB 0207 HV combine a robust construction with operating voltages of up to 1000V.
Resistor offers 1W power rating in 0612 case size
Featuring a wide side terminal construction that yields a high 1W power rating in the compact 0612 case size, the WSL0612 surface-mount Power Metal Strip resistor has been unveiled by Vishay Intertechnology. The resistor combines its high power-to-footprint-size ratio with extremely low resistance values down to 0.001Ω and stable resistance tolerances to 1.0%.
IGBT/MOSFET driver saves space in compact inverters
Expanding its optoelectronics portfolio, Vishay Intertechnology has announced a low-profile, SMD, 2.5A IGBT and MOSFET driver for motor drives, alternative energy, welding equipment and other high-working-voltage applications. The VOL3120 features a small footprint with a 2.5mm height and minimum 8mm clearance and external creepage distance.
Low-profile power inductors provide powdered iron cores
Featuring powdered iron cores for high saturation current up to 5.8A, a series of low-profile, high-current power inductors have been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. Lowering costs and saving board space in computer, consumer and telecomms applications, the IHHP series devices are offered in the miniature 2.0x1.6mm 0806 and 2.5x2.0mm 1008 case sizes, each available with low profiles of 1.0 and 1.2mm.
N-channel MOSFETs improve reliability & save energy
Featuring low reverse recovery charge and on-resistance, Vishay Intertechnology has announced three devices in its 600V EF series of fast body diode n-channel power MOSFETs. The SiHx21N60EF, SiHx47N60EF and SiHx70N60EF increase reliability and save energy in industrial, telecomms, computing and renewable energy applications.
