TPS7A78 120-mA, smart, capacitance-drop, low-dropout (LDO) linear voltage regulator
The TPS7A78 improves the overall efficiency and standby-power in power-supplies in an easy-to-use, non-magnetic approach to AC/DC conversion. The TPS7A78 uses a capacitor-drop architecture to lower the AC source voltage before actively clamping the rectified voltage. The device then regulates this rectified voltage down to the application-specific operating voltage. The unique architecture of the device allows the standby power to be reduced to j...
TPS6287x-Q1 2.7-V to 6-V Input, 6-A, 9-A, 12-A, 15-A, Automotive, Stackable, Synchronous Step-Down Converters with Fast Transient Response
The TPS6287x-Q1 is a family of pin-to-pin 6-A, 9- A, 12-A, and 15-A synchronous step-down DC/DC converters with differential remote sensing. For each current rating, there are full-featured device variants with I2C interface and limited-featured device variants without I2C interface. All devices offer high efficiency and ease of use. Low-resistance power switches allow up to 15-A continuous output current at high ambient temperatures.
5.5-V input, 1-A step-down module with integrated inductor in 2 x 2.5 x 1.1-mm μSIP package
The TPSM8282x device family consists of a 1-A, 2- A, and 3-A step-down converter MicroSiP power modules optimized for small solution size and high efficiency.
4.5-V to 15-V input, dual 6-A, single 12-A, output power module
The TPSM5D1806 dual 6-A output power module is a highly integrated and flexible DC-DC power supply packaged in a compact 8-mm × 5.5-mm × 1.8-mm, QFN package. The input voltage range of 4.5 V to 15 V allows conversion from a wide intermediate bus as well as standard 5-V and 12-V rails. The two 6-A outputs can be configured independently for two separate power rails or combined for a single 2-phase, 12-A output.
18-V, 15-A synchronous boost converter
The TPS61288 is a high-power density, fully integrated synchronous boost converter with a 6.5- mΩ power switch and a 8.5-mΩ rectifier switch to provide a high efficiency and small size solution in portable systems. The TPS61288 has a wide input voltage range from 2 V (2.4 V rising) to 18 V to support applications with single-cell or two-cell Lithium batteries. The device has 15-A switch current capability and is capable of providing a...

How a noise-reduction pin improves system performance
In the article, 'LDO basics: power supply rejection ratio', Aaron Paxton discussed using a low-dropout regulator (LDO) to filter ripple voltage arising from switched-mode power supplies.
TI microprocessors for next generation HMI
In the past, a human machine interface (HMI) consisted of a physical control panel with push buttons, switches and indicator lights that enabled users to communicate with a machine. As the technology progressed, it became possible for users to monitor processes, see status information displays and send commands. Now, HMI applications are everywhere, including smartphone apps used to control televisions, voice commands in a vehicle, patient monito...
