The new iJC series of 100A Point of Load (POL) non-isolated DC/DC converters has been announced by TDK Corporation with PMBus communication. These converters utilise adaptive digital control to deliver improved transient response and system stability across a wide range of output capacitance.

TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of two LAN modules for the TDK-Lambda HFE1600 and HFE2500 series of rack mount, hot-swap power supplies. The LAN (Local Area Network) option allows the user to program and monitor the status of the power supplies remotely. This enhancement is ideal for use in general industrial, communications, and test and measurement equipment.

TDK has announced the introduction of the TDK-Lambda Genesys+ series of high power density programmable DC power supplies - the 5kW, 1U model is the first in the series. Utilising DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology, these next-generation units provide improved efficiency, performance and functionality over existing products available on the market at a competitive cost.

The lower cost iFB series of 557-600W rated DC/DC converters have been announced by TDK Corporation, which are packaged in the industry standard full-brick form factor. The iFB models offer high useable power and a robust design suitable for the demands of distributed power architectures. TDK has announced the addition of a 3,200W, 48V at 66.7A rated model to its TPS3000 series of industrial power supplies. Capable of operating from a 350 - 528VAC 3-phase input in a Delta or Wye configuration, the TPS3000-48 avoids the need for step down transformers that traditional 208/230Vac input power supplies require. In addition, phase current balancing is simplified.

The introduction of the iQG series of 504W rated DC/DC converters, has been announced by TDK Coporation, further expanding its isolated DC/DC product portfolio. A LC filter for EMI suppression has been presented by TDK Corporation. With dimensions of 1.0x0.5x0.35mm the MEM1005PP251T filters are suited for use in smartphones and base stations. Volume production began in March 2017. The usual method for suppressing interference in the communication frequency bands of smartphones and other devices is to use capacitors or inductances, or a combination of these components.

A 48VDC nominal EMC filter rated at 50A has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Enclosed in a compact metal case, the RDEN-048050 filter utilises stud terminals for ease of connection. Excluding the terminals, the filter measures 90x60x30mm.

A series of medically certified 300W external power supplies has been announced by TDK Corporation. Certified to the latest IEC 60601-1 & 60601-1-2 medical standards, products in the DTM300 series have 4,000VAC isolation from input to output and are offered with either a Class I or Class II input.

TDK has expanded its CGA series of automotive-grade MLCCs for high-temperature applications: New MLCCs with X8L temperature characteristics have been introduced and the capacitance range of its existing X8R types has been extended. With the new types, TDK's lineup of X8L and X8R MLCCs features an unrivalled high capacitance range of up to 22 µF.

TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of the five-year warranty EVS series of constant current power supplies. Two power levels are offered; a fan cooled 600W and a convection cooled 300W. A range of 40A Point of Load (POL) non-isolated DC/DC converters, the iAH series, has been announced by TDK Corporation. Measuring 10.2mm high with a 33x13.5mm footprint, the iAH demonstrates an increase in output current of 100% compared to TDK-Lambda’s similarly sized iAF series. 

Featuring a maximum DC resistance of 62mΩ - 30% lower than for existing types (e.g. TFM160808ALM, 0.47-μH), TDK Corporation has introduced the TFM160808ALC thin-film inductor for power supply circuits. The new type, whose compact dimensions are 1.6x0.8x0.8mm, also offers a high rated current of 2.6A and an inductance of 0.47μH.

  A new series of robust EPCOS MKP X2 capacitors for EMI suppression has been presented by TDK Corporation. Compared with conventional X2 capacitors designed for rated voltages of 305VAC, these components offer a higher rated voltage of 350VAC. 

TDK Corporation and InvenSense have entered into a definitive agreement wherein TDK agrees to acquire all of the outstanding InvenSense shares for cash at an acquisition price of $13.00 per InvenSense share, for a total acquisition price of $1.3bn. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies.
