Acquisition to further sensor solution growth in IoT and ICT
TDK Corporation and InvenSense have entered into a definitive agreement wherein TDK agrees to acquire all of the outstanding InvenSense shares for cash at an acquisition price of $13.00 per InvenSense share, for a total acquisition price of $1.3bn. TDK announces the introduction of the CCG15 series of 15W DC/DC converters, packaged in a metal case providing six-sided shielding for reduced radiated EMI. The CCG15 has the industry standard 1 x 1 inch footprint, and can operate over a wide 4:1 input range. These converters are suitable for use in a large number of applications, including communications, industrial control, test and measurement, broadcast and portable battery powered equipment.

Current power supplies charge energy storage systems
The five-year warranty EVS series of constant current power supplies has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Two power levels are offered - a fan cooled 600W and a convection cooled 300W. These compact power supplies are suitable for water purification systems or to charge batteries for energy storage.
Range of AC/DC power supplies backed by extended warranty
Effective 1st October 2016, the warranties on TDK Corporation's TDK-Lambda RWS-B series general purpose AC/DC power supplies have been extended from five to seven years. At the same time, warranties on its LS series general purpose AC/DC power supplies have been extended from three to five years.
Transponder coils for automotive applications are compact
Series of EPCOS z-axis transponder coils for passive entry, passive start (PEPS) car access systems have been presented by TDK Corporation. With their dimensions of just 7.7x7.4x2.65mm the components are extremely compact and feature a very low insertion height. The B82451L*E402 series comprises seven transponder coils covering an inductance range from 1.0-10.0mH.
Programmable power supplies are RoHS 2 compliant
The programmable and power supplies series from TDK Corporation are RoHS 2 compliant. The TDK-Lambda Genesys 10kW and 15kW series and all models that have an output voltage between 30V and 1500VDC and those with less than 30V output (with an input voltage of 208VAC or 400VAC) now carry the CE Mark in accordance RoHS2 Directive 2011/65/EU in addition to the 2014/35/EU and the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU previously covered.

Further expanding its CLF-NI-D series of rugged power inductors is TDK Corporation with its new types coming in three additional sizes: CLF5030NI-D with dimensions of 5.0x5.3x2.7 mm, CLF10060NI-D measuring 10.0x10.1x6.0mm and CLF12577NI-D at 12.5x12.8x7.7mm.
Capacitors made robust from aluminium housing
Two new series of robust EPCOS Aternating Current (AC) capacitors have been introduced by TDK Corporation. Both the cans and the tops of the components are constructed of aluminium, making them particularly robust. All capacitors in the B33331 and B33335 series are CE-compliant, have both VDE approval in accordance with EN/IEC 60252-1 Class A and UL approval.
Filters offer high attenuation with no sound quality degradation
Expanding the company's portfolio of EMC components for audio lines, TDK has announced the MAF1005G noise suppression filter measuring just 1.0x 0.5x0.5mm. The miniaturised audio line filter features a high attenuation of cellular bands from 700MHz to 2.5GHz and can suppress the spurious emissions from these bands by up to 50dB.
DC link capacitor designed for IGBT modules
An EPCOS DC link capacitor that has been specifically designed for the HybridPACK 1-DC6 IGBT module from Infineon Technologies has been presented by TDK Corporation. The outstanding features of this component are the six busbar terminals with dimensions that are matched precisely to fit the IGBT module. This multiple contacting produces an excellent current capability while at the same time offering very low parasitics.
Companies collaborate to further grow sensor business
Based in Munich, Germany, TDKS’s wholly-owned subsidiary EPCOS, manufacturer of electronic components, modules and systems have signed a tender offer agreement; it has been announced by TDK and Tronics Microsystems. According to the terms EPCOS will launch a public tender offer for all publicly-held shares of Tronics for €13.20 per share.
Power supplies operate in high ambient temperatures
The introduction of the KWS-A series of single output 5W to 25W encapsulated power supplies capable of operating in ambient temperatures of up to 85°C has been announced by TDK Corporation. With a Class II input, the products require no earth ground connection, making them suitable for use in a range of process control, broadcast, test & measurement and industrial equipment.
