Medical power supplies operate in temperatures up to 80°C

TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of the TDK-Lambda brand CUS150M series of AC/DC power supplies capable of operating in ambient temperatures of up to 80°C without the need for forced air cooling. Available in four package types and delivering up to 150W output power, the power supplies are suitable for use in both Class I or Class II (double insulated) installations.

AC/DC power supplies have medical safety certifications

TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of medically certified RWS1000B/ME and RWS1500B/ME series of 1000 to 1500W AC/DC power supplies, further extending TDK Lambda’s 7-year warranty 50 to 1500W RWS-B range. These new models are targeted at medical, cosmetic laser treatment and scientific equipment requiring less than 300µA earth leakage current. All RWS-B models operate from a wide-range input of 85 to 265Vac.

Industrial grade DC/DC converters have 4:1 input range

The introduction of the GQA120 series of industrial grade DC/DC converters has been announced by TDK Corporation. Rated at 120W output power, the units are available in four robust quarter‑brick package styles designed for use in a wide variety of applications and environments. These include automated guided vehicles, portable electronics, ruggedised communication equipment, track-side rail and marine navigation systems.

High-impedance chip beads with lowest DC resistance

TDK has announced the development of the MMZ0402EUC series of chip beads, with the lowest DC resistance for a chip bead its size. The two new types with their respective impedance values of 150 Ω and 180 Ω at 100 MHz, feature DC resistance values of only 0.62 Ω and 0.69 Ω. This results in a significant reduction in power losses, while at the same time providing excellent noise suppression.

DC/DC converters feature wide output adjustment ranges

  TDK Corporation has announced the introduction of the 100W i3A series of non-isolated DC/DC converters, packaged in the industry standard 1/32nd brick form factor. These step-down converters are capable of adjustment from either 3.3 to 16.5V or 5 to 30V output and accept an input voltage of 9 to 53V.

Varistors feature increased permissible operating temperature

  TDK has presented leaded EPCOS metal oxide disk varistors, which have now been approved for an increased operating temperature of 105°C (previously 85°C). The reason for this is the recertification of the B722* series of varistors in accordance with UL 1449, 4th Edition, and IEC 61051.

Board mount 2 and 4W power supplies accept 90-305VAC inputs

The KAS series of wide input range, 2 and 4W encapsulated AC/DC power supplies has been announced by TDK Corporation. They can operate continuously from 90-305VAC, 47-440Hz, making them suitable for use with 115V, 230V and 277VAC nominal inputs. Additionally, having a Class II construction, no earth ground connection is required.

PMBus communication interface available for modular power supplies

A standby/signal option has been announced by TDK Corporation, with a PMBus communications interface for the QM series of 700-1500W modular AC/DC power supplies. The PMBus (Power Management Bus) is an open standard digital power management protocol, allowing communication between devices. The QM series is the latest product in a 37-year legacy of modular power supplies, featuring very low audible noise and full MOPPs medical isolation.

Power supplies extend 7-year warranty RWS-B series

TDK has announced the introduction of the RWS1000B and RWS1500B series of AC/DC power supplies, extending TDK-Lambda’s popular 7-year warranty 50 to 600W RWS-B range. Rated at 1000W and 1500W output power, the units are available with 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V and 48V outputs. Both series feature screw terminal blocks with covers, in place of widely used busbars, allowing easy connection of the output cables.

Harsh environment DC/DC converters offer up to 92% efficiency

Additional models have been introduced to TDK's HQA series of harsh environment DC/DC converters. The series now includes both 85 and 120W ratings with output voltages of 5, 12, 15, 24, 28 and 48V. The input voltage is 9-40V for the 5-28V units and 18-40V for the 48V unit. All models can withstand a 50V surge for 1s. With efficiencies of up to 92%, the HQA series is suited for use in COTS, communications and industrial equipment.

3-phase input industrial power supply delivers 3,200W at 48V

TDK has announced the addition of a 3,200W, 48V at 66.7A rated model to its TPS3000 series of industrial power supplies. Capable of operating from a 350 - 528VAC 3-phase input in a Delta or Wye configuration, the TPS3000-48 avoids the need for step down transformers that traditional 208/230Vac input power supplies require. In addition, phase current balancing is simplified.
