MAGNETOM RT Pro edition suits MAGNETOM Vida

Siemens Healthineers has just unveiled their brand new MAGNETOM RT Pro edition for MAGNETOM Vida, a 3 Tesla MRI scanner specifically designed for planning radiation therapy procedures. It has a new magnet, a pretty large 55x55x50 field of view, and an optional 60/200 XT gradient system that the firm believes may improve geometric distortions.

Ultra-high MRI scanner receives EU Approval

Siemens Healthineers has just won the first European regulatory approval for an ultra-high-field MRI scanner to be used in clinical practice. The Magnetom Terra sports a magnetic field strength of 7 Tesla, which is considerably more powerful than 3 Tesla, the current high-end standard. WinCC open architecture selected for Heathrow rail infrastructure

50kg aircraft motor delivers 260kW continuous output

Siemens researchers have developed a new type of electric motor that, with a weight of just 50kg, delivers a continuous output of about 260kW – five times more than comparable drive systems. This record-setting propulsion system successfully completed its first public flight on 4th July 2016 at Schwarze Heide Airport near Dinslaken, Germany, where it – almost silently – powered an Extra 330LE aerobatic airplane.

Boosting e-Car Power Electronics

The Siemens Drive Technologies Division has signed a cooperation agreement with Semikron International in order to intensify their future collaboration in power electronics for electric vehicles. Under the agreement Siemens has taken over the fully owned Semikron subsidiary VePOINT, which has 30 highly qualified employees based in Nuremberg.
