Trigger function enhances 5G test platform
Test setups for new technologies such as 5G and state-of-the-art radar technology require switch and control technology with large frequency ranges and short switching times. To meet this requirement, Rohde & Schwarz has completely revised its platform and now presents the new R&S OSP220/230/320 units and the new R&S OSP-B200S2 satellite box.
Power supplies optimised for educational applications
The NGE100B power supply series from Rohde & Schwarz is easy and safe to operate. The robust instruments have galvanically isolated channels and safety binding posts. The colour-coding of the channels provides a quick overview. The power supplies are compact, quiet and can optionally be remotely controlled via WLAN.
Test solution measures radiation on 5G devices
A test system for conducting radiation measurements on 5G millimeterwave devices in the range from 20GHz to 87GHz using a compact antenna test range (CATR) has been demonstrated by Rohde & Schwarz. The new solution will offer 5G RF engineers a great advantage, significantly accelerating time-to-market for 5G millimeterwave cellular devices.
Radar technology puts complex demands on automotive supply chain
Vehicle construction is an innovation driver in Germany, and according to the report INNOVATIONEN IN DER DEUTSCHEN WIRTSCHAFT (Innovations in the German economy) of the Fraunhofer Institute and the Center for European Economic Research, €52.4 billion was invested in 2016 alone – with an upward trend. The focus is on autonomous driving, and new developments in this area mean continuous process changes, not just for automobile manuf...
Rohde & Schwarz tops 2bn Euro revenues for first time
In its 2017/2018 fiscal year (July to June), Rohde & Schwarz surpassed the €2bn revenue mark for the first time. At €2.04 billion, revenue was 6.7% higher than in the previous year, while incoming orders rose by 7.4 percent to €2.21BN. The employee count worldwide climbed from around 10,500 to 11,500 by June 30, 2018.
LTE-V interoperability tests make connected vehicles a reality
Rohde & Schwarz and Huawei have successfully tested the interoperability of LTE-V connected vehicles with the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester using the embedded Huawei Balong 765 IC as an LTE-V UE. The solution verified multiple test scenarios for internet of vehicles (IoV) communications based on 3GPP Release 14 Mode 4.
Software automates EMI testing
The R&S ELEKTRA EMC test software from Rohde & Schwarz fully automates electromagnetic interference (EMI) tests. It also covers electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS) to address both product development and certification in line with international standards.
Rohde & Schwarz fields complete test team at electronica
To pinch a term from the world of football (or soccer for any Americans reading this) Rohde & Schwarz has a full squad for visitors to choose from at electronica in Munich (November 13-16). Under the slogan "Accelerate design. Maximize performance." the company will be exhibiting products such as its family of high-performance oscilloscopes, a signalling test solution for Bluetooth LE, signal generators and several updated instrument families...
Handheld spectrum analysers cover frequencies up to 26.5GHz
Three base models providing frequency ranges from 5kHz to 6GHz, 13.6GHz and 26.5GHz have been added to the Rohde & Schwarz Spectrum Rider FPH family of spectrum analysers. The R&S Spectrum Rider FPH was the industry's first handheld spectrum analyser to offer a capacitive touchscreen and a unique frequency upgrade concept via keycodes.
Tester visualises and characterises signal penetration of radomes
Automotive radars are often located behind bumpers and brand emblems. The materials of these covers (radomes) should allow the radar signals to pass through as uniformly and unhindered as possible. With the imaging R&S QAR automotive radome tester from Rohde & Schwarz, users in development and production environments can now check this easily, reliably and under automated control.
Duo collaborate on TC8 Automotive Ethernet testing
Rohde & Schwarz and Spirent have announced a partnership to provide a fully integrated test solution, offering full coverage of both the physical and protocol layers for automotive Ethernet TC8 ECU test specifications. As members of the OPEN Alliance (One-Pair Ether-Net) Special Interest Group (SIG), both companies have been working closely with the industry and have joined forces to develop tailored solutions to address the challenges that t...
EuMW 2018: High-end analysers enhance 5G test options
European Microwave Week in Madrid got off to a busy start as Rohde & Schwarz announced enhancements to its R&S FSW high-end analyser family. All R&S FSW models with a maximum input frequency of 26.5GHz and above are now available with a 2GHz internal analysis bandwidth option and an 800MHz bandwidth option for real-time analysis.
BLE test solution to be unveiled at Bluetooth 2018
Rohde & Schwarz will present its Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signalling test solution for signalling RF tests under realistic conditions at Bluetooth World 2018 Santa Clara, California (September 18-19). Bluetooth Low Energy has emerged as a major transmission technology for the Internet of Things (IoT).
