Rittal Exhibiting at DatacenterDynamics 2017
DatacenterDynamics Converged Europe Conference and Expo, at London’s old Billingsgate, will bring together the world’s keenest minds to share their expertise with an international audience of senior ICT and datacentre professionals. Rittal will be there, highlighting a range of solutions that address the needs of companies who design, install and operate data centres, whatever their size or scale.
Maintenance-free conductor clamps provide contacts in no time
When manufacturing control gear and switchgear systems, wires and cables routinely have to be connected to copper busbars. The conventional approach is time-consuming and uses screw clamps or fixed conductor connection clamps. But help is at hand, thanks to the launch of a new range of maintenance-free conductor connection clamps from Rittal. The clamps utilise push-in technology, providing users with a fast, easy and secure method for connecting...
How to achieve climate control in the food industry
Climate control of enclosures using water cooling is highly efficient, especially if there is already a central cold water supply available in the production plant. The new Hygienic Design air/water heat exchangers from Rittal are suited to the food industry, where hygiene standards are exceptionally stringent. Hygiene is an absolute must in the food industry: machinery, plant and components must readily withstand daily cleaning with pressure was...
Don’t get lost in the fog
Cloud computing offers processing power and storage capabilities that few organisations can match, and for a relatively low cost. Indeed, there are those who believe one day, all our computing will reside in the cloud. However, there is a pressing issue with cloud computing and that is bandwidth which is why there is a new acronym in town – FOG computing, which is inclined towards an element of local processing and storage.
Are your enclosures ready for the summer?
Rittal has warned users of manufacturing automation systems to check that they are prepared for the summer heat and, if necessary, arrange for an inspection of their equipment to check the level of risk. High temperatures are the most common cause of sensitive electrical and electronic components tripping or even failing. A failed electrical device can cause major disruption to production which could cost a company hundreds of thousands...
Partnership delivers modular data centre solutions
Manufacturer of IT racks, Rittal, will partner with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to jointly deliver modular data centre solutions for the global market. Rittal will bring to the joint market approach their broad portfolio of modular and scalable data centre solutions from a micro data centre to largely scalable container solutions. This will be complemented by HPE Pointnext-services.
Climate control in the food industry
Climate control of enclosures with water cooling is highly efficient, especially if there is already a central cold water supply available in the production plant. The Hygienic Design air/water heat exchangers from Rittal are well suited to the food industry, where hygiene requirements are exceptionally stringent.
Towards the intelligent industrialisation of data centres
The hugely impressive Lefdal Mine Datacentre (LMD) in Norway has an ambitious vision; it aims to be the most cost-effective, secure, flexible, and green datacentre in Europe. LMD opened on 10th May 2017, and is powered exclusively by low-cost renewable energy. Rittal is a strategic and technology partner, and has provided the datacentre with its top-of-the-range, preconfigured, modular and scalable infrastructure.
Cooling units have strong emphasis on connectivity
Capturing, transmitting and processing data lies at the heart of what has been dubbed 'the fourth industrial revolution'. It’s one of the reasons why cutting-edge connectivity has become so important in factories and similar environments to facilitate new, smarter ways of working, such as predictive maintenance. Connectivity is a feature of Rittal’s new cooling units and chillers and its recent collaboration with Siemens MindSphe...
Server rack fastener allows rapid screwing
A 1U 19'" server racks fastener from Rittal is now on offer at Conrad Business Supplies. The fastener for 1U height unit allows rapid screwing of extension components into 19" server racks (482.6mm) and eliminates the need for individual cage nut mounting. As a result, enclosure parts can be quickly installed without the use of any special tools. The fastening material consists of a pre-set 1U beam with three cage nuts and a centre attachmen...
LED system makes light work of everyday workshop production
The high-performance, energy-efficient LED technology of Rittal’s new LED system lights optimises illumination in housings and enclosures. As well as maintenance engineers, the new development also benefits control system and switchgear manufacturers. With user-friendly connection and assembly options, the lights facilitate everyday workshop production. This makes using the new LED system lights a no-brainer for Blumenbecker Automatisierung...
Push-in conductor connection clamps enable quick attachment
Wires and cables often have to be connected to copper busbars when manufacturing control gear and switchgear systems. The conventional approach is time-consuming and uses screw clamps or fixed conductor connection clamps. With a new generation of maintenance-free conductor connection clamps utilisng push-in technology, Rittal now offers what it claims to be the fastest method of easily and securely connecting conductors to busbars.
Transmission of data to the cloud
Capturing, transmitting and processing data lies at the heart of the fourth industrial revolution. Therefore, cutting-edge connectivity is a must for equipment in factories and similar environments – for example to enable predictive maintenance. At Hannover Messe 2017, Rittal was there to highlight the communication capabilities of its new cooling units and chillers. And by presenting these in conjunction with Siemens MindSphere and IB...
DX enclosure-based cooling supports growing IT needs
In today’s data-driven business models, even small companies have to contend with growing IT needs. When they expand their computing environments and install the latest class of servers, the issue of cooling the equipment becomes acute. Legacy air-cooling systems are no longer sufficient. The Rittal LCU DX and LCP DX solutions deliver enclosure-based cooling via direct expansion units. The units are easy to install simply by mounting t...
How to check your enclosure cooling
Manufacturing automation systems are delicate and very expensive pieces of kit, which perform vital functions for the businesses they serve. The enclosures that protect them must have strictly controlled internal environments with interior temperatures that are carefully maintained within a few degrees. If not, the impact can be harmful to the inverter drives, power supplies, contactors, PLCs and other electrical and electronic components operati...
Rittal’s Rack on show at DCW 2017
Exhibiting its TS IT rack at Data Centre World 2017 (ExCel, London, 15th-16th March), Rittal will be on stand J10. The TS IT rack provides a safe environment for servers and other equipment.
