Advanced production plant will build 9000 enclosures daily
Rittal is expanding its production capabilities and has begun building what it says will be the World’s most advanced production plant for compact enclosures. It is under construction in Haiger, Germany and completion is scheduled for 2018. Haiger will act as a pilot and model for upgrades at other Rittal sites throughout the world.
ISV distribution enclosures made more compact
Provider of solutions for industrial enclosures, power distribution, climate control and IT infrastructure, Rittal, has announced further improvements to its ISV distribution enclosure - part of the Ri4Power range. It has upgraded the installation kit allowing the ISV modules to be integrated faster and more easily into the TS 8 and SE 8 enclosure systems, and into the AE compact enclosure.
Full of bright ideas
Designed specifically for enclosures, Rittal has launched a new generation of lights. Setting new standards for energy and high performance, the range uses LED technology which will deliver up to 1,200 lumens, and for easy installation, there are simple connection and mounting options.
Rittal publishes guide to new low voltage directive
A new European Directive will provide greater protection for users of electrical equipment across a wide range of consumer and professional products, including power supply units and components such as fuses. The Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU came into force on 20 April 2016, replacing Directive 2006/95/EC. It provides detailed and in-depth guidance around the placing of electrical equipment within certain voltage boundaries.
Roof-mounted fans reduce running costs
Delivering superior efficiency, flexibility, protection and ease of use is the new range of roof-mounted fans that have just been launched by Rittal. The new range is designed to reduce the costs associated with operation, installation and maintenance while better protecting the installed equipment that they are required to cool.
Rittal’s 185mm Ri4Power busbar system
A range of market-leading power distribution systems for enclosures has just been extended. Rittal’s popular 185mm Ri4Power busbar provides trusted, safe and compact power distribution within enclosures. Its modular system is easy to install in just three steps, and consists of standardised and tested products, all of which meet the requirements of IEC 61 439 for low-voltage switchgear assemblies with design verification.
When the cloud comes out of the container
In a remarkable first for the IT sector, Rittal and iNNOVO Cloud have come together to create a new and innovative “turnkey cloud data centre in a container” concept. It was showcased at CeBIT 2016 exhibition in Hannover and aims to show how companies can rapidly establish new cloud-based data centres.
Whitepaper explores IT & data centre metrics
Data centres are basic building blocks in every key sector of society in the digital world of the 21st century. They can be found in industry, hospitals and airports, but also in all fields of communication and the internet. The growing use of mobile terminal devices and the increasing amount of data being transferred means that data centres will also continue to grow in the future.
President Barack Obama visits the Rittal Stand at Hannover Messe 2016
US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel paid tribute to the extraordinary innovation and commitment to future talent development shown by the Rittal company during a state visit. Both the corporation’s “Blue e+” generation of coolingunits - which set new standards for energy efficiency - and its ongoing investment in young trainees impressed the President and Chancellor Merkel on the opening day of the Hann...
Choosing the most suitable IT rack
What should project engineers and technicians consider when planning and installing IT infrastructures? How do they plan the electrical, climate control and security requirements? Rittal looks at answers to key questions that will help identify the right IT rack for your installation.
Rittal’s tips for configuring enclosures
High packing densities in enclosures and very short project times are just two of the challenges that switchgear manufacturers have to face today. From a commercial point of view, the interior of the enclosure must be fitted out as quickly as possible, while, at the same time, as many components as possible must be fitted into the enclosure.
Rittal’s RiMatrix S takes centre stage at Data Centre World 2016
IT flexibility, corporate agility and reducing operational costs are just some of the key themes critical to business success that Rittal will be tackling at Data Centre World 2016. Advanced IT infrastructures and streamlined processes help drive business competitiveness, but the speed of global innovation continues to get faster, which means a smarter approach is required to compete successfully.
Key points that help ensure successful installation
There are probably five main areas for IT/data centre managers to consider when it comes to planning future rack developments. One of the most critical is deciding the precise configuration of the internal components. This critical step typically underpins the success of the whole project, especially when IT racks are not installed in a standardised data centre environment.
Interior installation is quick with plenty of space
High packing densities in enclosures and very short project times are just two of the challenges that switchgear manufacturers have to face today. From a commercial point of view, the interior of the enclosure must be fitted out as quickly as possible, while, at the same time, as many components as possible must be fitted into the enclosure.
Physical security in IT and data centre technology
With the world’s reliance on digital technologies growing exponentially, the need for heightened security around IT and data centre infrastructure has probably never been greater. Recent cyber attacks have exposed the vulnerability of networks to groups or individuals with malicious intention. But it isn’t just the networks which are at risk; there is an equal threat to the data centre itself from physical hazards, which also nee...
Rittal to showcase the future of datacentres at DCD 2015
At DatacenterDynamics Converged Europe Conference and Expo (18th to 19th November 2015 at London’s ExCeL), Rittal will be exhibiting its data centre solutions and products on Stand 336, showcasing climate control and power distribution essentials, along with details of flagship IT rack solutions.
The industrialisation of data centres
The Lefdal Mine Datacenter (LMD) is a vast 120,000 square metre, multi-level installation currently under construction near Måløy on Norway's west coast. Once complete, it will be Europe’s largest data centre, producing a capacity of 100MW.
Network enclosure offers a masterclass in design flexibility
The TE 7000 network enclosure from global-leading experts, Rittal, offers a masterclass in design flexibility and versatility for IT rack installations. Based on a self-supporting 19” frame, the IT 7000 is a robust enclosure that can installed from the front or back using the variable depths between the roof and bottom frame. Clearance between the front and rear mounting sections enables each position to be freely selected within specific a...
Ten steps towards optimal IT infrastructure
What components make up the physical infrastructure of a data centre? How do you choose the best options for your data centre? And what services are available for back up? The answers to these fundamental questions can be found in the latest whitepaper jointly authored by Rittal and Reichle & De-Massari AG (R&M).
Climate control units dissipate up to 167kW of heat
Two recent Rittal precision climate control units are improving the energy efficiency of raised floor cooling systems in data centres. The CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioner) CW and CRAC DX room climate control units can dissipate up to 167kW of heat and will also help reduce operating costs.
