Dancing robots at Rittal’s German manufacturing plant
High-tech production plants that ‘think for themselves’, that plan things automatically and that optimise maintenance work through Artificial Intelligence (AI), might sound like a futuristic sci-fi film, but it is fast becoming a reality at Rittal’s manufacturing plant in Rittershausen, Germany.
Channel summit discusses Blockchain, business models
Over 70 partners discussed edge technology, Blockchain and new business models in at Rittall’s Channel Partner Summit in Dublin. Topics under discussion included strengthening each other and making use of individual expertise for synergy effects, expanding the Rittal IT Ecosystem for joint growth.
VX25 enclosure transition made easy
Rittal is supporting control and switchgear engineering as it transitions to Industry 4.0 and adopts its new VX25 large enclosure system. The new VX25 conversion assistant for parts lists provides free data and an intelligent selector and configurator, simplifying the transition from the TS 8 enclosure system to the new VX25 large enclosure system. Control and switchgear manufacturers wanting to improve productivity, in line with Indust...
Practical tips for 5G, blockchain and industrial analytics
The Internet of Things (IoT) provides companies with valuable data relating to machines, products and transportation, which can be used to gain fresh (product) insights, devise business models, and boost efficiency. The IoT has facilitated the use of technologies such as Robotics and 5G, and helped the digital transformation become a reality.
Cable management & future rack developments
There are a number of key areas for IT and data centre managers to consider when it comes to planning future rack developments. One of the most critical is deciding the precise configuration of the internal components. This typically underpins the success of the whole project, especially when IT racks are not installed in a standardised data centre environment.
A base for every season
The introduction of the new base/plinth system from Rittal for enclosures and IT racks means it can now offer customers and end-users more functions and options. The latest innovation combines all benefits of the existing TS and Flex-Block base/plinth systems in one solution.
Rittal publishes UL regulations advice
Rittal has embraced the need for a high degree of responsibility for the safety of users and the electrical equipment its enclosures are designed to protect. As such the company has a policy of always being on the front foot when it comes to fully complying with international regulations. In the USA and Canada, for example, a machine cannot be commissioned until approved by the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to confirm compliance with t...
Supporting switchgear engineering on the way to Industry 4.0
It has been announced that Rittal is supporting control and switchgear engineering on the way to Industry 4.0 with its new VX25 large enclosure system. The company now permits the merging of real and digital workflows for significantly greater efficiency thanks to maximum data quality and consistent engineering.
Rittal launches latest network cable organiser
Modern network infrastructures are reliant on optimum performance and maximum flexibility with their cabling. The Network Cable Organiser (NCO) is indispensable for ensuring this. It revolutionises patching work on the enclosure, with 8 times faster assembly. This not only nets you huge time savings, it also creates space and order in the rack. The NCO will mean simple, fast and secure patching while surplus cable lengths, whether CAT 6...
Rittal offers tangible assembly benefits combined with savings in time
Time is precious, particularly in control and switchgear engineering where there is always a requirement for some element of manual labour. With its new VX25 large enclosure system, Rittal is offering tangible installation benefits, thanks to its new, improved functionalities. These include improved accessibility, a greater installation depth, tool-free assembly, clever baying seals, and a completely new base/plinth system.
New enclosure designed for the rail industry at Infrarail 2018
At Infrarail 2018 on stand D11, Rittal’s new generation Location Case enclosure will be the main attraction. Rittal’s new generation Location Case has been developed in conjunction with Network Rail and their exacting requirements using a standard product platform widely used in other IT and industry sectors.
Large enclosure system reduces complexity with pitch pattern
With the development of a consistent 25mm pitch pattern and full symmetry, Rittal has launched a new chapter in enclosure technology. The new frame section in the 25mm grid is now also used in the horizontal part of the frame, the enclosure can be expanded much more flexibly, even beyond its limits.
Rittal hits the road with Routeco Live 2018
Rittal will be joining Routeco Live in 2018, to showcase its renowned infrastructure solutions – widely specified as the No.1 choice for protecting critical equipment – and demonstrate how its products and services can address specific problems faced by different industries. This year, the Routeco shows are visiting three venues across the UK, featuring the latest industrial controls and automation products.
Rittal Edge Data Centre designed for IoT solutions
Companies that employ machine-to-machine communication to streamline manufacturing require real time capabilities. IT resources deployed in close geographical proximity ensure that latency is low, and data readily available. The Rittal Edge Data Centre provides an effective answer to this need. It is a turn-key, pre-configured solution based on standardised infrastructure. It can be implemented rapidly and cost-efficiently - paving the ...
Improving cooling communications in the Cloud
Scenarios belonging to Industry 4.0, such as predictive maintenance, are based on the provision of data, as well as integrated, networked communication. But for this to happen, IoT-compatible devices obviously have to be equipped with the necessary technology interfaces. Rittal is driving this capability forward forward for its cooling units and chillers in Industry 4.0 applications.
Stand alone enclosures offer 30% more usable internal space
Enclosure manufacturer, Rittal North America, has introduced the SE 8 line of stand alone enclosures. The new SE 8 combines the interior space efficiency of modular designs with a price point that competes with unibody enclosures. SE 8 freestanding enclosures are available in single- or double-door designs. The enclosures utilise 14-gauge doors, and 16-gauge panels and roof. All materials are available in carbon or stainless steel.
