Power supply announced with SIL certification
The new Quint Power power supply from Phoenix Contact enables you to achieve high operational safety, even for demanding applications. The Plus version with protective coating and ATEX/IECEx approval enables use in potentially explosive areas (zone 2). It has an integrated decoupling MOSFET and double overvoltage protection with SIL 3 certification.
eYoungsters take second place
Trainees Jana Schwarze and Alexandra Kerps, who are both 21 and have just started their careers at Phoenix Contact, took second place in the WAVE Trophy, the largest e-mobility rally in the world. During the WAVE Trophy, the two aspiring industry sales representatives covered 3241 kilometers in their eGolf nicknamed “E-Mil”.
Power connectors for assembly with compact crimp connection
The new M12 Power connectors for assembly with crimp connection from Phoenix Contact offer a great deal of power in a compact design. Whether for AC or DC applications, various numbers of positions and codings are available. Due to the small wiring space, the shielded connectors are compact and supply motors and devices with up to 16A or up to 690V. This means that conductors may be crossed.
New gateways for Modbus-to-Ethernet/IP
The device family of serial device servers and gateways from Phoenix Contact aims to enable a variety of protocols to be seamlessly integrated into a network or the simple migration of existing serial devices into the modern Ethernet. The new Modbus-to-Ethernet/IP gateways can integrate existing Modbus devices (TCP or RTU slaves) into the Ethernet/IP protocol.
Functional safety in signal systems
With type 200S signal lights, Phoenix Contact offers high levels of security for applications in maritime signal systems, e.g. at locks or movable bridges. An integrated and autonomous monitoring function guarantees the safe diagnostics of LED lights in accordance with safety standard IEC 61508.
RJ45 contact inserts for heavy-duty connectors
For the safe, compact integration of RJ45 data cables into heavy-duty applications, Phoenix Contact offers suitable contact inserts. The new RJ45 adapter and gender changer enable data transmission in the space-saving D7 housing. In tight spaces, data of up to 10Gbps can be reliably transmitted using Profinet, Industrial Ethernet, or EtherCAT.
Configure and order heavy-duty connectors online
Customers can now use the Heavycon online configurator from Phoenix Contact to design customised connectors in just a few steps. The configurator helps the user create the exact design they want. Image representations in 2D and 3D make it easier for the user to make their selection.
Active redundancy module as OVP version
The new VP version of the QUINT S-ORING module from Phoenix Contact extends the active redundancy modules of the QUINT 4 power supply family. By decoupling and monitoring, it increases system availability.
New standards announced for single pair of Ethernet connectors
The companies Phoenix Contact, Weidmüller, Reichle & Massari (R&M), Belden, and Fluke Networks announced a technology partnership for Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) at the Hannover Messe. These companies are developing and supporting the pin connector patterns collectively added to the IEC 63171-2 (office environment) and IEC 63171-5 (industrial environment) standards. These standards define IP20 and IP65/67 pin connector patterns for si...
Vertical push-in connection for confined spaces
The PTV terminal block series with side conductor connection is a new Phoenix Contact innovation. This ensures clearer wiring without bending radii in confined spaces. The conductor and connection marking is more recognisable. This Phoenix Contact series features feed-through, three-conductor and four-conductor terminal blocks.
Certification awarded in accordance with IEC 62443-4-1 and 2-4
According to the company, Phoenix Contact is one of the first companies in Germany to have been certified by TÜV SÜD in accordance with the IEC 62443-4-1 and 2-4 series of standards for IT security. This confirms that the company develops secure by design products in compliance with the IEC 62443-4-1 process and designs secure automation solutions in compliance with the IEC 62443-2-4 process.
Partnership develops IoT platform solution
With the systematic elimination of conventional power generation sources, distribution systems will face new challenges in the future; volatility is on the rise as a result of renewable energies, and consumer requirements for security of supply are increasing. This, in turn, makes it more difficult to manage assets from a cost-optimised perspective in today's environment.
Interference-free transmission with the Ethernet media converter
The new media converter, FL MC EF 660 SCRJ, from Phoenix Contact aims to enable the connection of cost-effective polymer and HCS/PCF fibre technology. The optical transmission of data via fibre optics is free of electromagnetic interference and provides complete electrical isolation on the transmission path. This is therefore particularly suitable for Ethernet applications.
Robust operation terminals for use on vehicles
Phoenix Contact now offers operation terminals for particularly harsh ambient conditions in the form of the VMT 9000 product range. Based on the new generation of Intel Atom x7-E3950 processors and featuring a high end design, the terminals have been specifically developed for the target markets of logistics as well as agricultural and construction machinery. The devices are characterised by their particularly compact and robust design, ensuring ...
Power distribution made easy thanks to new PCB connectors
The PC 6/...-ST-BUS series of PCB connectors from Phoenix Contact are especially well-suited to looping through high power levels. It features an IDC displacement connection and can therefore be used in particular for connecting commercially available 16 mm² conductors without conductor pre-treatment. Thanks to the flexible conductors, users can set up individual energy bus systems in application-specific arrangements.
Angled PCB terminal block for THR processes
Phoenix Contact is expanding its range of angled PCB terminal blocks with Push-in connection. The new SPTA-THR 1,5 PCB terminal blocks from Phoenix Contact are made of heat-resistant plastic and are therefore suitable for automatic assembly using the reflow soldering process.
Connectors for DC energy distribution of photovoltaic systems
There are now connectors with a crimp connection as well as Y distributor for the Sunclix product series for photovoltaic systems from Phoenix Contact. The new versions with a crimp connection are ideal for automated production processes. International approvals in accordance with IEC 62852 and UL 6703 meet the current and future requirements for the connector range.
Data connectors for Ethernet and Profinet
It has been announced that Phoenix Contact is expanding its range of circular connectors for data transmission. The new, two-piece M8 device connectors are especially well-suited for compact devices such as SCADA operator interfaces or camera systems.
Circular connectors for harsh environments
It has been announced that Phoenix Contact is expanding its range of IP-protected PRC series circular connectors. Inverted cable connectors and couplings are the solution for reliable cable-to-cable connections in building, industrial and outdoor applications. Modular basic housings and contact inserts also make angled conductor outlets possible for the first time.
Initiative for the standardisation of industrial communication
In order to obtain a uniform, cross-manufacturer communication standard, Phoenix Contact and other companies are supporting the OPC Foundation in its efforts to harmonise and standardise OPC UA up to the field level. Phoenix Contact will be part of the OPC Foundation's working groups and thus define a new standard for every device in OT, from sensors to actuators through to controllers.
