Microsemi and OneSpin Solutions have announced that the OneSpin 360 Equivalence Checking (EC)-FPGA verification solution now fully supports Microsemi’s Libero SoC design flow. Equivalency checking has become a critical component in the verification of high-reliability designs such as safety critical components, ensuring that no issues are introduced during the design refinement process.

Microsemi has announced its TimeProvider 5000 Software Release 2.2, adding ITU-T G.8275.1 phase synchronisation profile support with a software upgrade and license key. The first demonstration of reverse power feeding over G.fast broadband access network infrastructure has been announced by Microsemi and Sckipio Technologies, scheduled to take place at the International CES in Las Vegas, suite 1560 in the Westgate Hotel. This is the first time reverse power has been demonstrated publicly on real G.fast equipment.

The completion of nine NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) CAVP (Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program) certifications has been announced by Microsemi. These certifications validate the high levels of security offered by the company’s SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs and IGLOO2 FPGAs.

To develop networking hardware and a Fibre Channel IP core, Microsemi has partnered with New Wave Design & Verification (New Wave DV). An outdoor-rated lightning protection device, supporting both PoE and non-PoE enterprise installations, has been released by Microsemi. While enabling data streams of up to 10/100/1000mb/s and PoE levels up to 95W, the PD-OUT/SP11 single-port device protects all eight wires of the Ethernet cable. 

Fully compliant with the ITU-T G.8251 standard, which ensures interoperability and satisfactory network performance, the ZL30169 OTN (Optical Transport Network) clock translator has been introduced by Microsemi. The ultra-small, three-input, three-output any-rate-to-any-port clock translator for OTN provides output clocks with jitter performance of 250fs RMS, suitable for 100G coherent optical networks.

Critical for FTTdp and G.fast deployments, Reverse Power Feed (RPF) technology has been introduced by Microsemi. The PD81001 and PD70101 RPF chips are designed to be used with Broadcom's VDSL2 and G.fast chipsets. Integrated with low RDS(ON) FET, the PD81001 is an RPF Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) chip. The chip, which has a built-in 3.3VDC output, features 10 external components.

After more than three decades of providing voice solutions, Microsemi has announced that it has shipped over 1bn voice line circuits. The company, which manufactures the miSLIC, ZL880 and VE890 series of voice line circuits, has a 65% market share in voice solutions for VoIP enabled broadband gateways.
