Software release adds support for phase synchronisation PTP profile
Microsemi has announced its TimeProvider 5000 Software Release 2.2, adding ITU-T G.8275.1 phase synchronisation profile support with a software upgrade and license key. The software release now supports Synchronous Ethernet and the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) phase profile, helping customers to use the available spectrum more efficiently and deliver a more reliable network.

An outdoor-rated lightning protection device, supporting both PoE and non-PoE enterprise installations, has been released by Microsemi. While enabling data streams of up to 10/100/1000mb/s and PoE levels up to 95W, the PD-OUT/SP11 single-port device protects all eight wires of the Ethernet cable.
OTN clock translator suits 100G coherent optical networks
Fully compliant with the ITU-T G.8251 standard, which ensures interoperability and satisfactory network performance, the ZL30169 OTN (Optical Transport Network) clock translator has been introduced by Microsemi. The ultra-small, three-input, three-output any-rate-to-any-port clock translator for OTN provides output clocks with jitter performance of 250fs RMS, suitable for 100G coherent optical networks.

Reverse power feed technology designed for next-gen xDSL
Critical for FTTdp and G.fast deployments, Reverse Power Feed (RPF) technology has been introduced by Microsemi. The PD81001 and PD70101 RPF chips are designed to be used with Broadcom's VDSL2 and G.fast chipsets. Integrated with low RDS(ON) FET, the PD81001 is an RPF Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) chip. The chip, which has a built-in 3.3VDC output, features 10 external components.

After more than three decades of providing voice solutions, Microsemi has announced that it has shipped over 1bn voice line circuits. The company, which manufactures the miSLIC, ZL880 and VE890 series of voice line circuits, has a 65% market share in voice solutions for VoIP enabled broadband gateways.
