Data security features enhance FPGAs
New data security features have been added to enhance Microsemi ‘s new ultra secure SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs and IGLOO2 FPGAs. The devices feature licensed, patent-protected DPA resistance from Cryptographic Research, active tamper detectors including an active mesh, secure flash key storage, unique key generation through Intrinsic ID’s Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) Quiddikey-Flex, and full NIST-certified crypto accelerators.
DevKit reduces time-to-market through FMC expansion headers
Designed for the communications, industrial, defence and aerospace markets, the SmartFusion2 150K LE SoC FPGA Advanced DevKit has been released by Microsemi. The kit features two FMC expansion headers which allow board-level designers and system architects to utilise off-the-shelf daughter cards to reduce time-to-market for a wide range of applications.
Wideband audio processor enables greater audio clarity
The first product in the company's Timberwolf family, Microsemi has claimed that the ZL38040 audio processor delivers best-in-class HD voice communication solutions for the enterprise hands-free speakerphone markets. The device incorporates an advanced wideband acoustic echo canceller for echo cancellation and noise reduction in HD audio speaker phone and IP phone applications.

Strengthening the company's MMIC design technologies and communications product portfolio, Microsemi has signed an agreement to acquire Centellax.
Platform of DSPs focuses on wearable computing
To address the growing intelligent processing markets, Microsemi has introduced Timberwolf, a platform of DSPs. The platform, which is available in either a 64-pin QFN package or a 56 pin 3x3 CSP, features a 4 MAC core, hardware accelerators, and two 16-bit DACs.
ICs target applications with tough jitter budgets
Offered in a 5x5 mm package, the ZL30252 and ZL30253 any-to-any frequency clock multiplier and jitter attenuator ICs are now available from Microsemi. With a clock multiplier jitter performance of 160fs in the 12kHz-20MHz band and a jitter attenuator performance of 250fs in the 12kHz-20MHz band, the devices are aimed at applications with tough jitter budgets and tight board real estate restrictions.
FPGAs are the first to complete NSA's IAD SIG document
The SmartFusion2 SoC FPGA and IGLOO2 FPGA, manufactured by Microsemi, has completed the NSA's IAD (Information Assurance Directorate) SIG (Secure Implementation Guidelines) document. These families, the company claims, are the only FPGAs to have completed this.
Microsemi and eInfochips collaborate for aerospace design services

Patent license secured to boost DPA-resistant FPGAs
A patent license extension, for the secure booting of third-party processors and FPGAs, has been obtained by Microsemi for its Differential Power Analysis (DPA). The DPA license has been obtained from the Cryptography Research division of Rambus, and allows Microsemi to use the Cryptography Research portfolio of patented breakthrough DPA countermeasures.
Clock generators replace multiple high performance crystals
Suited for enterprise networking and storage applications requiring jitter clock synthesis solution and small form factor, Microsemi has announced the ZL30250 and ZL30251 flexible clock generators. The ultra-low jitter solution (160fs [12kHz-20MHz integration band]) can replace multiple high performance crystals and crystal oscillators.

Updated IP cores support various bus protocols
