HARTING Limited Articles
Hinged frame integrates with high mating cycle connectors
Adding a new hinged frame to the Han-Modular range of industrial connectors, HARTING has enabled the components to be integrated with the company's family of High Mating Cycle (HMC) connectors, which are designed to handle more than 10,000 mating cycles.
Trams & buses operate without overhead electric wiring
An RFID system, which allows electric trams or buses to operate without overhead electric wiring in areas such as historic towns, has been developed by HARTING.
Differential current transformer measures up to 10A
Expanding its family of current sensors, HARTING has unveiled a differential current transformer capable of carrying out current measurements at up to 10A. Specifically designed to measure ambient conditions in the wind energy sector, the single-piece core transformer combines high functional reliability with extremely high mechanical stability for the most demanding applications.
Slimline M12 features rapid termination technology
A slimline version of its har-speed X-coded M12 connector has been introduced by HARTING, equipped with HARAX rapid termination IDC connection technology. The field-installable 8-pin M12 connector is designed for automation technology applications where a cable needs to be attached quickly or adapted on site.
Housing panel mount permits vertical & horizontal attachment
A housing panel mount, which features a square mounting flange that permits attachment in either a vertical or horizontal configuration, has been released by HARTING. The Han 3A allows the cable outlet direction to be easily adapted.
Connectors meet PROFINET & Gigabit requirements
A number of connectors, which are suitable for PROFINET communication and Gigabit requirements in industrial applications, have been introduced by HARTING. Alongside the Han PushPull(R) connector for V.14, the company has added the IP20 RJ45 connector to its preLink(R) range. The latter is particularly suitable for connections from field devices such as data-collection terminals, controllers and wireless access points.
RFID transponder detects the locking state of cable cars
An RFID transponder, designed to electronically detect the state of locking mechanisms on cable cars, has been developed by HARTING.
Male connectors available in Type 3Q & 3R shell styles
To provide space-saving benefits in applications featuring high-density circuit boards using smaller components, HARTING is now offering its DIN 41612 male connectors in Type 3Q and 3R shell styles. The male connectors in styles 3Q and 3R are particularly suitable for use in mezzanine and cable to circuit-board applications.
Rail connectors feature additional polyurethane coating
At Railtex 2015, which takes place from 12th to 14th May at the NEC in Brimingham, HARTING will be exhibiting its connectivity solutions for rail applications. The products on show will include discrete heavy-duty connectors for use on board rail vehicles, intercar jumpers for transmitting high-speed signals along Ethernet backbones, rugged Ethernet switches, high-speed backplane-based systems and a range of RFID detectors and transponders.
Higher density enables 25% more contacts in the same space
Enhancing the company's Han-Modular industrial connector family, HARTING has announced the highest-density module available - the Han DD Quad. By incorporating space for 42 Han D contacts with crimp termination, users can place around 25% more contacts in the same space, enabling complete connector configurations to be realised in a smaller volume and more cost effectively.
Hall-effect current sensors measure up to 200 & 300A
Suitable for use in PV inverters, frequency converters or power supplies for welding applications, HARTING has enhanced its range of Hall-effect current sensors with two high-current models. The models are only half the size and weight of previous versions and operate over a wider temperature range from -40 to +85°C, allowing them to be deployed in thermally critical applications.
Polyurethane coating protects against extreme environments
Incorporating effective protection against extreme environmental influences, the Han M Plus range of connectors from HARTING feature an additional polyurethane coating. This coating increases the connectors' impact resistance and also protects them from extreme mechanical and chemical influences.
HARTING demos connector ranges & contract manufacturing
At Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2015, HARTING will highlight a number of additions to its ranges of board-to-board and board-to-cable connectors, as well as a greatly expanded range of M12 connectors for instrumentation and control applications. Additions to the har-flex 1.27mm robust circuit-board connector family are being featured which extend its versatility in a wide range of board-to-board and board-to-cable applications.
RFID solves modern railway maintenance challenges
Robust, long-lived, maintenance free and reliable, RFID systems from HARTING offer an optimal solution to a number of challenging problems in the servicing and maintenance of modern railway systems. They are suited to the challenges of rail applications such as extreme environmental demands, stone impacts, vandalism, very high speeds and the increased demand for reliability in the face of rising cost pressure and tight maintenance schedules.
Production management aided by RFID data integration
Offering easy, flexible integration of data from UHF RFID readers into production management systems, Ha-VIS Middleware from Harting is officially certified under the GS1 EPCglobal open standard. The system and its certification allows users to implement UHF RFID in a transparent, future-proof and reliably tested way.
Fire-resistant RJ45 meets European rail standards
The EtherRail connector is the first RJ45 on the market specifically designed for the field assembly of fire-resistant data cables in rail applications, claims Harting. The connector is designed for wires with an external diameter of up to 2mm and cables with diameters of up to 9mm.
Connector reduces theme park maintenance
Offering reduced maintenance costs for outdoor theme park cabling systems, the Han-Eco Outdoor connector has been released by HARTING. Based on a robust high-performance lightweight plastic material, when mated through the fluor polymer rubber flange seal, the connector provides IP65, UV, ozone and acid-rain resistant protection.
Panel feed-through housings offer sealing on both sides
Panel feed-through housings, which are sealed on both sides, have been introduced by HARTING. Both the cable side and the device side of the Han HPR housings meet the requirements of IP66 and IP68 according to IEC 60529. By designing the housings in such a way, HARTING have removed the possibly of corrosion as the seals prevent condensation from the device side reaching the contacts.
Tools aid industrial connector assembly
In order to aid the assembly of the company's family of industrial connectors, HARTING has introduced a range of tools. The range includes a slimline screwdriver, a four-indent crimp tool, crimping tools for wire gauges up to 70mm2, tightening torque tools for guiding pins and bushes, panel cutout punch tools for industrial connectors.
