Fujitsu launches into distribution market
Fujitsu has transformed its European semiconductor business into a distribution business. Fujitsu Electronics Europe (FEEU) has been trading as a global distributor since the beginning of 2016. Previously doing business as Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe (FSEU), the company now operates from offices in Langen (near Frankfurt), Munich, Milan, Budapest and Istanbul after changing its name and realigning its strategy.
Field trial detects signs of storm sewer system overflows
Fujitsu Laboratories has succeeded in the real-time detection of early signs of storm sewer system overflows during torrential downpours, thereby obtaining data for effective analyses. The data was collected in a sensing system field trial initiated in July 2015 with the City of Koriyama in Japan's Fukushima Prefecture.
Flexible, battery-less beacon is ucode tag certified
Fujitsu's prototype beacon has obtained the world's first ucode tag certification for a beacon from the TRON Forum. This beacon, which is more easily mass produced, will now be capable of globally unique ID transmission, for more reliable location information services. Since this certification complies with international standards, it can be linked with all types of map data that form the foundation for delivering services.

Fujitsu has announced the µATX boards of the Classic Desktop series and two boards with longer availability. All boards are equipped with the 100 series chipset from Intel, which supports the 6th Generation Intel Core processors. For the first time they support DDR4 memory. This brings a significant increase in performance. The Intel chipsets enable the use of the new generation’s more powerful CPUs while reducing power consumption.
