Software can accumulate 20Gb/s communications data
Fujitsu has announced the launch of the FUJITSU Network Virtuora TC software, which can run on conventional PC servers to perform full wire speed packet capture of 20Gb/s communications data, accumulation and conduct high-speed searches. This product is only available in Japan.
12Gb/s transmissions are a step towards 5G
In preparation for the next-generation mobile communications 5G system, Fujitsu Laboratories has announced that it has achieved multiple access by multiplexing millimeter-wave beams. This technology will enable simultaneous high-capacity communications for multiple users while minimising reductions in communications speeds.
Technology for web applications that run on smart devices
Fujitsu announced that it has developed technology for web applications that run on smart devices or wearables and that delivers the same level of security as thin clients while offering an exceptional degree of operability.
IoT package provides actionable data for businesses
An IoT package that senses the status of people and things and their surrounding environments and analyses the data to quickly provide valuable, actionable data tailored to a customer's business has been introduced by Fujitsu. The UBIQUITOUSWARE package consists of core modules that, in combination with sensors, MCU and wireless communication function to analyse sensing data.
Mainboards support Skylake Intel microarchitecture
A family of mainboards supporting next-gen Intel microarchitecture code named Skylake has been introduced by Fujitsu. Manufactured in 14nm technology, the processors with LGA 1151 sockets will fit into Fujitsu mainboards with the form factors ATX, µATX, and mini-ITX.
Industrial mainboards simultaneously drive three displays
Industrial mainboards, manufactured by Fujitsu, can simultaneously drive three displays. To provide this Multi Monitor Support, the D3236-S ATX mainboard, the D3231-S micro ATX mainboard and the D3243-S mini-ITX mainboard each feature one DVI-I and two DP V1.2 graphics interfaces.
Low-power beacon eliminates need for PMIC
Fujitsu has announced a beacon, weighing 3g with a thickness of 2.5mm, that does not require battery replacement or other maintenance and is flexible enough for installation on round objects, corners, and curves. Previously, beacons that did not require battery replacement needed power-supply components, such as PMICs and secondary batteries, as control circuits to ensure adequate power on activation.
Loop heat pipe cools mobile devices with capillary action
Fujitsu has announced the development of the world's first thin cooling device designed for small, thin electronic devices. Smartphones, tablets, and other similar mobile devices are increasingly multifunctional and fast. These spec improvements, however, have increased heat generated from internal components, and the overheating of localised parts in devices has become problematic.
Factory execution system enables process standardisation & knowledge sharing
Fujitsu has announced the release of FUJITSU Enterprise Application GLOVIA ENTERPRISE Manufacturing Execution System (MES), for customers in the assembly manufacturing industry. It enables information on the production activities of factories around the world to be co-ordinated among all production locations and the head office to strengthen manufacturing.
Manufacturing ICT environment targets human-robot co-operation
Fujitsu is to implement a next-gen manufacturing ICT environment in which humans can co-operate at a high level with robots and other machines, and in which all forms of manufacturing data are connected. Fujitsu has experience developing robotic systems with the autonomous control to respond to variations in components and automatically generate control programmes that respond to process changes.
Iris recognition system eyes up smartphone security
Fujitsu has developed a hard-to-forge, convenient-to-use iris authentication system, which has been built into a prototype smartphone. Just by looking at the smartphone's screen, the user's iris is read instantaneously, unlocking the phone. The screen can be unlocked simply by looking at it, which eliminates the need to use one's hands, resulting in what Fujitsu terms a ‘dramatic improvement in usability’.
Data storage system offers scalability to 56PB
Fujitsu has released the FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS CD10000, for storing hyper scale data volumes. The storage capacity of the ETERNUS CD10000 can be scaled out to 56PB (petabytes) just by adding storage nodes, which combine disks with controllers. This makes it possible to meet the storage needs for data volumes that, in recent years, have been growing explosively in the form of documents, images, videos and other reference material.
Enterprise smartphone & tablet range enhanced & extended
Fujitsu has added 18 models to its product series of smartphones and tablets for enterprise customers, including the ARROWS smartphone and tablet, equipped with Android 4.4, tablets running Windows 8.1, and enhanced models in other series, such as PC LIFEBOOK, PC ESPRIMO, and Workstation CELSIUS.
CMOS transceiver supports millimetre-wave radar
Fujitsu has announced that it has produced a transceiver chip for millimetre-wave (mm-wave) radar in a CMOS implementation, enabling costs to be reduced, while at the same time successfully boosting the short-range detection performance of the transceiver.
FRAM enables energy savings of up to 94%
An ultra-low-power FRAM device with an integrated binary counter function, the MB85RDP16LX has been introduced by Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe. Capable of enabling self-powering solutions such as the Wiegand wire-based platform from iC-Haus, the FRAM targets industrial automation applications involving energy harvesting for rotary encoders, motor control and sensors.
ATX mainboard is designed for 24/7 continuous operation
Based on an Intel C610 chipset, Fujitsu has announced the release of an ATX form-factor mainboard, designated the D3348-B. Compatible with all Intel processors with LGA2011 R3 sockets, the boards feature Intel processors from the Xeon E5-2xx [V3], Xeon E5-16xx [V3], or Core i7 58xx/59xx series as standard.
