Siemens is working closely with partners Juki, Mirtec, and Europlace on projects to leverage the printed circuit board (PCB) assembly digital twin to ensure you can do first-time-right programming when dealing with the challenge of smaller lot sizes.

As lot sizes shrink, the time to switch from one product to another reduces the overall equipment effectiveness. Siemens is collaborating to create fundamentally new solutions that address this challenge.

The Siemens Xcelerator digital platform and comprehensive digital twin approach to the digital thread form a vital part of this initiative.

An integral part of this solution is the Valor Process Preparation platform for translating and neutralising electronics design data, component data from Valor Parts Library and Supplyframe. This combination generates the ultimate virtual representation of a PCBA. It enables offline simulation for SMT and inspection, with no need for a real assembled board, considerably reducing the downtime of your assembly lines.
