This partnership merges Infineon's top-tier current sensor ICs with Swoboda's expertise in sensor module development and industrialisation, addressing the rapidly expanding market for sensing solutions in hybrid and electric vehicles. These collaborative high-performance current measurement solutions accelerate time-to-market for high-volume applications such as traction inverters and battery management systems, along with other critical automotive applications.
The first product to come out of this collaboration, the Swoboda CSM510HP2, is a fully encapsulated current sensor module that offers a significantly reduced footprint without sacrificing performance. Based on the Infineon TLE4973 coreless current sensor IC, it enables high-precision sensing with a total error below 2 percent. The module is specifically designed for seamless integration with the HybridPACK Drive G2, Infineon’s automotive power module for traction inverters in electric vehicles. This integration negates the need for separate external current sensors, facilitating the most compact traction inverters available on the market.

Infineon and Swoboda are also working on additional current sensing solutions to serve various power devices. Other target applications include inverter DC links and high voltage battery management systems, among others.
