Miniature IR receivers offer improved RF noise rejection
Expanding its optoelectronics portfolio, Vishay Intertechnology introduces two series of miniature IR receiver modules for IR remote control applications in consumer products. Offered in the new Minimold package, the TSOP33xxx and TSOP53xxx series devices deliver the same RF noise rejection as Minicast receivers while surpassing the high optical performance of Mold package devices.
Single two-piece contacts now available with locking plug
AVX has enhanced its low-profile 70-9159 series single two-piece contacts for high current, coplanar PCB mating applications with the addition of a locking plug. The latest addition to AVX’s revolutionary, robust and cost-effective portfolio of STRIPT insulator-less single contact solutions, the 70-9159 series delivers the industry’s smallest profile capable of supporting a full 5A.
The German Research Association 3-D MID e.V. takes new member
ASSCON Systemtechnik Elektronik GmbH has now become a member of the German Research Association 3-D MID e.V. The association consists of some 100 members from universities, R&D institutes and industrial companies.Founded in 1992 in the German city of Erlangen for the introduction and advancement of the MID technology, the association is dedicated to the support of the multifaceted and interdisciplinary performance requirements of this sophist...
UV LED delivers long lifetime in compact package
Expanding its offering of mid-power UV LEDs in the 365nm wavelength range, Vishay Intertechnology announces the VLMU1610-365-135 with a silicone lens in a compact 1.6x1.6x1.4mm surface-mount package. The VLMU1610-365-135 is designed to provide a reliable, energy-saving replacement for mercury lamps and delivers an exceptionally long lifetime for medical, industrial and printing applications.
Sockets deliver reliability and faster PCB assembly
A portfolio of optoelectronic and gas sensor sockets from Ando is available at distributor Luso Electronics for customers in the UK and Ireland. OEMs and contract manufacturers can solder such sockets – rather than the sensor – onto a PCB to avoid production line electrostatic discharge (ESD) problems as well as exposure to high temperature soldering and cleaning solutions that can cause damage to the sensor.
Rebranding for six year old connector range
The insulator-less single contact technology from AVX, which was originally introduced to the market in 2010, will now be sold as STRIPT connectors.
Aluminium capacitors offer vibration resistance to 50g
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced five series of aluminium capacitors with increased vibration capabilities over standard devices. Providing high stability and reliability in automotive and industrial applications, the surface-mount 260 CLA-V, 246 CTI-V and 250 CRZ-V and radial 246 RTI-V and 250 RMI-V combine their high-vibration performance with low impedance, high ripple current and long useful life.
IBL Technologies to exhibit at the PHASE 4 Mini Show
IBL Technologies will participate in the PHASE 4 Mini-show & Technical conference, scheduled to take place August 9-11 at TechShop in Chandler, AZ and will demonstrate the redesigned SV260 Economy Vapor Phase Soldering Machine for small series and prototyping.
Ultra-low-loss coaxial microwave cable eliminates “phase knee”
Molex has introduced a Temp-Flex foam-core ultra-low-loss coaxial microwave cable, which combines space savings with an effective dielectric that eliminates “phase knee” and provides ease of termination. It also achieves 80% Velocity Of Propagation (VOP) loss characteristics, which produces more reliable signal performance and lower loss characteristics than air-enhanced PTFE cable.
ESD protection diode saves space in portable electronics
Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a Bidirectional Symmetrical (BiSy) 2-line ESD protection diode for portable electronics. Saving space over solutions in the SOT23 package, the VBUS05M2-HT1 in the ultra-compact LLP1006-3L package offers ultra-low capacitance and leakage current for the protection of high-speed data lines against transient voltage signals.
