PMR/LMR product line up expanded with CML’s Sicomm
CML Microcircuits has announced a product from its Sicomm Technologies design centre. The SCT3258TD is a highly integrated baseband solution that includes both DMR and dPMR standards. As well as providing full support for the DMR and dPMR protocol stacks, the device is differentiated from CML’s other baseband processors by embedding multiple low rate vocoders including AMBE+2 (Digital Voice Systems Inc.) and RALCWI (CML’s proprietary ...
Glasses help alleviate motion sickness
Citroën has released special glasses that help to prevent motion sickness. Though motion sickness was always a problem for some, since the introduction of smartphones and tablets the condition has been affecting more people as more of us look at screens while being chauffeured around. The so called “SEETROËN” glasses are actually developed by Boarding Ring, a French firm.
Buck regulators supplies high continuous current at 2MHz
The SiC46X from Vishay is a family of wide input voltage high efficiency synchronous buck regulators with integrated high side and low side power MOSFETs. Its power stage is capable of supplying high continuous current at 2MHz switching frequency. The regulators are available from Rutronik.
PFC reference design for HEV/EV onboard charger
This reference design functions from a base of Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETs that are driven by a C2000 microcontroller (MCU) with SiC-isolated gate drivers. The design implements three-phase interleaving and operates in Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) to achieve a 98.46% efficiency at a 240V input voltage and 6.6kW full power.
CoolSiC Schottky diodes: combining performance and robustness
At this year’s PCIM Europe trade fair in Nuremberg, Infineon Technologies AG presents the first products of its automotive Silicon Carbide portfolio: the CoolSiCSchottky diode family is now ready for current and future on-board charger (OBC) applications in hybrid and electric vehicles. Infineon has designed the diodes specifically to meet the high requirements of the automotive industry regarding reliability, quality and performance.
FETs deliver industry’s highest-performance upgrade path
Designers of Power Factor Correction stages (PFCs), Active Frontend Rectifiers, LLC converters and Phase Shift Full Bridge converters can now upgrade existing system performance by using the UJ3C1200 series of SiC JFET cascodes from UnitedSiC. With a voltage rating of 1200V and ON-resistances of 80 and 40 milliohms, these devices offer a ‘drop-in’ replacement solution for many existing IGBT, Si-MOSFET and SiC-MOSFET parts, with no cha...
Easy vision guidance for robot picking
2D and 3D vision guidance systems for easy and quick set-up for robots picking products in electronics applications has been introduced by SICK. Suitable for both cobots and conventional industrial robots, the SICK PLOC2D and PLB 520 have been developed to facilitate affordable, or entry-level pick and place robotics.
Packaging keeps its cool
Packaging innovation leads to vastly improved cooling and thermal management, says Stefan Preimel, concept and application engineer, Infineon Technologies
Redesigning a classic
High frequency ranges bring speed and noise immunity improvements to the established CWT range of wideband Rogowski current probes, says Chris Hewson, Power Electronic Measurements
Driving leading-edge SiC/GaN power converters
To take advantage of the new power switch technologies, a complete ecosystem of ICs must be implemented in converter design, starting with the gate driver, says Stefano Gallinaro, Analog Devices and Imad Owaineh, Watt&Well
