CCD image sensor suits machine vision applications
Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced the S12379, a linear CCD image sensor designed for machine vision cameras, targeting applications including chip counters and sorting machines. The S12379 offers a linear array of 2048 active pixels in a compact package only 36mm long. Each pixel is square, a necessity for machine vision applications.
MOST Forum 2015 programme announced
The MOST Cooperation has announced the conference programme for the upcoming seventh MOST Forum on April 21, 2015 in Germany. Conference presentations will examine higher speed rates as well as different physical layers and transceivers. In the area of compliance and quality assurance, presenters will look at virtual prototyping, testing and simulation.
Deuterium light source & PDA added to photonics range
Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced two products to its range, the company's first high brightness deuterium (H2D2) light source (left) featuring a deuterium lamp that emits UV light at intensity 6 times higher than the company's conventional L2D2 range of lamps, and aback illuminated 16 channel PhotoDiode Array (PDA), designed for use in X-ray non-destructive testing applications.
Eximer light source suits field cleaning & reforming
Reducing the size of its flat excimer light source into a compact box without compromising on performance, Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced the L12530 EX-mini; a compact light source suitable for R&D work in both cleaning and reforming applications. This all-in-one, lightweight design offers portability, making it suitable for field work.
Compact linear image sensors suit mass production
Two compact CMOS linear image sensors, designed for applications such as position detection, object measurement, rotary encoders and image reading, have been released by Hamamatsu Photonics. TheS11106-10 and S11107-10have been designed for mass production, and aim to offer a favourable performance-to-cost ratio.
Mini spectrometer module targets inline testing
The latest offering from Hamamatsu Photonics in its range of miniature spectrometers is the C11697MB; a high-sensitivity, trigger-compatible VIS-NIR mini-spectrometer module. The new module is ideal for inline testing applications and measurement of pulsed light emission due to the high sensitivity offered by the new S11639 CMOS linear image sensor housed inside.
CMOS sensors deliver improved performance v cost
Two new compact CMOS linear image sensors are designed in a small surface mount package and are ideal for mass production and numerous applications including barcode readers, displacement meters, refractometers, interferometers and miniature spectrometers. Hamamatsu Photonics says the S10226-10 and S10227-10 sensors offer much improved performance vs. cost.
Radiation line sensor facilitates industrial pipe inspection
Hamamatsu Photonics has developed an energy-discriminating radiation line sensor, featuring a direct conversion type semiconductor, to inspect corroded pipe walls.
Photomultiplier tube recognised by the IEEE
The IEEE has recognised Hamamatsu Photonics for technical achievement in the development of the 20” Photomultiplier Tube (PMT), which has been used for the observation of phenomena such as supernovae and neutrinos.
Advanced Engineering 2014 explores automotive electronics
Following research which found that up to 50% of a vehicle’s value is held within the electronic functionality it offers, organisers ofAdvanced Engineering2014 decided to focus on the automotive electronics supply chain at the Automotive Engineering show. Those who attend the Advanced Engineering event, which takes place from 11th to 12th November at the NEC, Birmingham, will have access to the two-day ‘Auto Electronics’ exhibit...
