Photomultiplier tube can obtain outputs from two systems
A PhotoMultiplier Tube (PMT) module that offers wide dynamic range for applications such as chemiluminescence measurement and semiconductor inspection has been introduced by Hamamatsu Photonics.
Multifunctional photo IC targets smartphone applications
A multifunctional photo IC, which integrates a colour sensor, a proximity sensor and a three-colour (RGB) LED onto a single flip-chip package has been introduced by Hamamatsu Photonics. The sensor is designed as a small, inexpensive and versatile device for use in smartphones and other such devices.
LED UV light source provides 10,000mW/cm²
Hamamatsu Photonics has developed a high-output ultraviolet LED light source that offers approximately 7 times the UV intensity of previous units for use in high-throughput UV printing applications. The LIGHTNINGCURE LC-L5G (part number: L12990-2303) provides the same level of output as metal halide lamps. It was made available to manufacturers of printing equipment on 1stApril 2015.
The world's first narrow bandwidth & stable wavelength LD
A wavelength beam-combining LD (Laser Diode) with a narrow spectral bandwidth of less than one eighth has been developed by Hamamatsu Photonics. This development was achieved by controlling the wavelength from two high-power LD stacks at the same time using a stripe mirror and single plane type volume bragg grating.
Film thickness gauge is compact for easy integration
Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has developed a noncontactfilm thickness measurement system utilising spectral interferometry, the Optical NanoGauge C13027, which offers easier integration into inline manufacturing equipment thanks to its reduced size and compatibility with automation controllers. The system’s footprint is roughly 30% smaller than previous systems of the same type.
Seeing-eye chip offers reliable light & colour detection
Hamamatsu Photonics has announced the availability of a Photo IC diode, the S11154-201CT, with spectral response characteristics designed to closely match that of the human eye. This chip is designed for use as an energy saving sensor within large screen televisions, for example, and other general types of light level measurement.
CMOS sensor for spectrometry detects weak signals
Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced a CMOS linear image sensor designed specifically for spectrometry applications; the S10121 to S10124 series. Each pixel on the sensor acts as a self-containing photodiode offering variable integration time, so the integration time is shortened if the pixel is bright and lengthened if it is dim.
Low-noise camera allows focus on two regions of interest
Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced the ORCA Flash4.0 LT camera with W-VIEW Mode, which enables read out of two different regions of interest with different exposure times. The ORCA Flash4.0 LT is equipped with the latest generation II sCMOS technology having a spatial resolution of 2048x2048pixels (6.5µm pixel size) and a very low readout noise of 1.5 electrons rms.
PMT module uses USB connection for control & power
Hamamatsu Photonics has extended its range of compact photomultiplier tube modules with the H11890 series of USB powered photon counting modules, providing excellent count linearity with correction performed by an internal processing unit. The H11890 series contain a metal package PMT along with a high-speed photon counting circuit and high-voltage power supply unit.
IR LEDs provide reference source for moisture detection
Hamamatsu Photonics has released an infrared LED, the L12771 series, aimed at moisture detection applications where specific wavelengths are required as the reference light source. The L12771 series has a peak emission wavelength of 1.3µm with a typical radiant output power of 2.8mW. The IR LEDs use InGaAs, and come in a compact TO-46 package.
