Test options proliferate at Automotive Test Expo
A solution for testing automatic in vehicle emergency call systems will be a highlight on Rohde & Schwarz’s stand at the Automotive Testing Expo in Stuttgart (June 16-18). Based on an EU decision, eCall will be mandatory in all new car models from April 2018. ERA-Glonass, which is the Russian equivalent, was launched in spring 2015.
Software allows students to visualise ideas in an intuitive 3D way
Computer Simulation Technology announces the release of CST STUDIO SUITE Student Edition, a special free version of its flagship electromagnetic simulation package designed to help the engineers of tomorrow to get to grips with the basics of electromagnetic theory.
Photoreceiver makes optical alignment easy
A photoreceiver which consists of a photodiode followed by a high-end, variable gain transimpedance amplifier has been introduced by LASER COMPONENTS. The OE-300 features relatively large sized detectors, which make optical alignment easy and also ensure a very high coupling efficiency when using the Si models together with the optionally available fibre optic adapters PRA-FC/SMA.
Oscilloscopes on parade at Sensor & Test exhibition
Oscilloscopes will take centre stage on Rohde & Schwarz’s stand at the Sensor & Test exhibition in Nuremberg (May 19-21). Products range from three HMO entry-level oscilloscopes with bandwidths of 50MHz to 500MHz to the mid-range RTM2000 and RTE with up to 2GHz bandwidth and the high-performance RTO oscilloscopes with up to 4GHz bandwidth.
Calibration service expands operations
A specialist UKAS accredited calibration service for electrical and electronic test and measurement equipment has expanded its operations to meet growing demand. Calibrationhouse has invested in extended workshop facilities and new test technology, as well as recruiting additional service and calibration engineers at its County Durham headquarters.
Instrument enhanced with MATLAB file saving
Yokogawa has released firmware Version 3.20 for the DL850 ScopeCorder series of instruments, which combine the features of a high-speed oscilloscope and those of a traditional data acquisition recorder in a single, portable instrument. A key feature of the new firmware is direct file saving into the Mathworks MATLAB(R) data analysis and visualisation environment, offering users quicker and easier import of measurement data.
Rohde & Schwartz wins Frost & Sullivan plaudit
Frost & Sullivan has recognised Rohde & Schwarz with its 2015 Global Award for Competitive Strategy Innovation and Leadership, based on recent analysis of the oscilloscopes market. Rohde & Schwarz entered the oscilloscope market five years ago, introducing a product portfolio that helped it expand its footprint globally.
RF/IF signal recorder permits up to eight channels
An RF/IF signal recording and playback system has been released by Pentek, expanding its Talon family of recorders. The RTR 2726A, suitable for wideband signal recording and playback in signal intelligence and RF testing applications, implements a new packaging scheme that boasts a smaller, lighter chassis.
Power efficiency measurement with an oscilloscope
This Keysight Technologies video will help you analyse output of your power switching device by testing efficiency using InfiniiVision X series oscilloscopes.
Trigger/analysis options upgrade oscilloscopes
Trigger and analysis options have been added by Yokogawa to its DLM2000 (4-channel) and DLM4000 (8-channel) Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes (MSOs) for testing the latest generation of in-vehicle serial buses. The options are specifically designed to address the measurement challenges posed by the CAN FD (CAN with Flexible Data Rate) and SENT (Single Edge Nibble Transmission) bus systems.
