Signal analyser offers 2Hz to 85GHz single sweep
The new FSW85 high-end signal and spectrum analyser from Rohde & Schwarz covers the frequency range from 2Hz to 85GHz in a single sweep. This makes it possible for users to test baseband and RF with a single analyser. Since no external harmonic mixers are required, the analyser makes the test setup much simpler.
Recorder supports up to four Serial FPDP links
Optimised for laboratory operating environments, the Model RTV 2602 Serial FPDP recording and playback system has been released by Pentek. The device, which expands the company’s Talon Value series, supports up to four independently clocked Serial FPDP links using copper or optical cables with single-mode or multimode fibre with flexible baud rate selection.
Oscilloscopes debug ability enhanced to meet ISO CAN FD
ISO CAN FD (controller area network with flexible data rate) decoding and triggering has been added to Keysight Technologies’ InfiniiVision 4000 and 3000T X-Series oscilloscopes. The new capabilities improve engineers’ efficiency in debugging the ISO 11898-1 standard CAN FD, as well as the original non-ISO CAN FD protocol.
Software release addresses new serial bus standards
In response to the proliferation of serial bus communications in electronic designs, the latest version of PicoScope now has decoding and analysis of sixteen protocols included as standard. When used with the deep memory included in most PicoScope oscilloscopes, this new software release creates a powerful debugging and troubleshooting tool at no extra cost to PicoScope owners.

Tektronix joins OpTecBB to augment engineer support
Tektronix has joined OpTecBB, the competence network for optical technologies and micro-system technology in the region of Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany. By becoming a member of OpTecBB, Tektronix can now further support engineers testing optical communication components, modules and systems, especially with the DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope.
Industry’s 'lowest power' wideband RF synthesiser
Claimed to be the industry’s lowest power wideband RF synthesiser, the LMX2571 from Texas Instruments integrates an ultra-low-noise PLLatinum fractional-N PLL with a multicore VCO. This enables enabling low phase noise and spurs at only 39mA (128mW) and a PLL noise figure-of-merit of -231dBc/Hz, which is eight times better than the competition and enhances receiver sensitivity.
Short-pulse terahertz waves technology used for chip circuit analysis
A technology that utilises short-pulse terahertz waves for analysis of electrical circuits has been developed by Advantest. The technology has 2 major applications – analysis of the transmission characteristics (S parameters) of devices using the sub-terahertz band (100GHz~1THz), and characterisation and location of failures in chip circuits (TDT/TDR).
World's fastest wireless to optical bridge demonstrated
The world’s first demonstration of a wireless system capable of transmitting data at 400 GHz (0.4 THz) using advanced signal coding (up to QAM-16) and key advanced THz devices has been announced by Tektronix and IEMN, a major French research laboratory. Using a combination of optical coherent technologies and THz transceivers, the demonstration showcases the advances being made toward operational wireless links with THz frequencies and opti...
Advanced analysis added to HDMI receiver testing
The addition of advanced analysis and characterisation support for HDMI 2.0 receiver testing has expanded Tektronix’s portfolio of HDMI test solution. The new HDMXpress provides complete support for HDMI test pattern generation, auto-calibration and margin testing, eliminating the needs for manual pattern creation.
