Spectrum analysis option added to 1GHz oscilloscope
Embedded World exhibition in Nuremberg was the stage for Rohde & Schwarz, the local T&M team, to unveil a spectrum analysis and spectrogram option for itsRTM oscilloscope family. The instrument can analyse the time domain while simultaneously analysing the spectrum, logic and serial protocol. Interactions such as those that occur in electronic devices with RF components are quickly analysed in a single measurement.
1.5GHz, 2GHz models expand oscilloscope family
Rohde & Schwarz has added two- and four-channel 1.5GHz and 2GHz bandwidth models to its RTE family of oscilloscopes. It expands the family’s bandwidth range from 200MHz to 2GHz. The oscilloscopes also offer 5 Gsample/s sampling rate per channel and up to 200 Msample memory; even long signal sequences can be analysed accurately, right down to the details.
A test method for synchronising multiple GSPS converters

Diode power sensor enhancements add flexibility
Rohde & Schwarz has undertaken a redesign of its sensors and is now launching the R&S NRPxxS and R&S NRPxxSN USB three-path diode power sensors. The R&S NRPxxSN model offers both a USB and a LAN interface. Both power sensor models are available for three different frequency ranges, from 10MHz to 8, 18 and 33GHz.
Tester simulates LTE network with simultaneous TDD
Rohde & Schwarz has successfully verified combining various frequency bands in mixed-mode TDD and FDD mixed carrier aggregation. During the test, the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester simulated an LTE network with simultaneous time division duplex (TDD) and frequency division duplex (FDD).
Meet network capacity demands with LTE unlicensed
To address the increasing demand for mobile data, Qualcomm Technologies is extending LTE to unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U). The company has integrated the technology into its latest small cell solutions and RF transceivers for mobile devices and successfully completed over-the-air testing to prove co-existence between multiple LTE-U and WiFi access points in the unlicensed spectrum under extreme load conditions.
Entry level analyser offers mid-range performance
Livingston has added the Rohde & Schwarz two-port vector network analyser to its portfolio of RF test equipment. This is an entry level analyser product for evaluating the performance of RF systems and components in manufacturing facilities and development laboratories, or validating antenna installations.
Testing eCall in-vehicle systems
With the EU aiming to make the automatic eCall (emergency Call) system mandatory in all new cars by the end of 2015, conformance test systems that enable manufacturers to quickly and reliably verify their eCall solutions are in high demand. By Christian Hof, Product Manager, Mobile Radio Testers, Rohde & Schwarz.
Has the wireless industry reached an inflection point & do we need 5G?
Now in its 7th year, the Future of Wireless International Conference moves to London for the first time on 23rd to 24th June 2015 to focus on disruption and change facing the wireless industry. With long-held assumptions about growth and direction being radically challenged, industry experts will ask whether the industry is at an inflection point, explore the risks and opportunities and try to predict the winners and losers in a connected, wirele...
Oscilloscope portfolio features at embedded world 2015
From its Munich base Rohde & Schwarz will motor up the autobahn to the embedded world 2015 exhibition in Nuremberg bringing its complete and enhanced oscilloscope portfolio. The high definition mode increases the vertical resolution of the R&S RTO and R&S RTE digital oscilloscopes to up to 16 bits, a 256 fold improvement over the 8 bit resolution available in standard mode.
