Agilent Technologies has enhanced its 89600 VSA software with custom IQ modulation analysis. The analysis capability speeds time to insight by allowing R&D engineers to more easily test proprietary signals for satellite and military communication applications. Due to security concerns, engineers developing SATCOM and MILCOM applications typically use proprietary and non-standardised signals.

Tektronix has strengthened its portfolio in the growing market for test equipment to support 100G/400G optical data communications research and development with the acquisition of Picosecond Pulse Labs for an undisclosed sum. Privately-held Picosecond Pulse Labs, are based in Boulder, Colorado.

Software packages test to HDMI 2.0 specification

Tektronix has unveiled a fully automated compliance test and debug solution for the recently released HDMI 2.0 specification. The solution covers the HDMI 2.0 transmitter tests and Direct Synthesis based receiver tests, and cable test requirements for fast, consistent and accurate test results.

Tektronix is expanding its family of precision power analysers with the introduction of the PA1000 single-phase power analyser. The company is positioning itself to take advantage of the burgeoning power inverter market which Curt Willener, general manager, Power Analyser Product Line, Tektronix suggested could be worth £70bn by 2020.
