Signal quality analyser debuts at ECOC 2017
Visitors to ECOC 2017 (18-20 September) in Gothenburg will be able to see demonstrations of Anritsu’s recently released MP1900A Signal Quality Analyser-R. The MP1900A series is a high-performance Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT) that accurately measures communications equipment, next-generation high-speed electronic and optical devices, including those for M2M and IoT applications, and optical transceivers used in high-end servers.
Simplifying the analysis of analogue signals
A newpost-processing software for easily visualising, measuring, analysing, and sharing analogue signals, named theCOMPRION Analog Scope Viewer has been launched bytest equipment manufacturer Comprion. The company claims that this is the only software of its kind, Comprion has integrated so-called quick measurements.
Arduino design contest opens for entries
The latest Arduino design contest is being supported by RS Components (RS) with high-quality RS Pro test-bench products, specifically an RS Pro oscilloscope and an RS Pro soldering station, among the range of competition prizes available. Entitled ‘Give your project a voice with Sigfox’, the initial stage of the Arduino competition involves engineers, makers and electronics enthusiasts coming up with innovative ideas for projects base...
Pulse generator introduced for scientific applications
The introduction of the PVX-4000-2kV-EX +/- 2000 V Pulse Generator has been introduced by the IXYS Colorado division of IXYS Corporation. The PVX-4000-2kV-EX is an air-cooled, high voltage pulse generator optimised for high impedance capacitive loads. It is well-suited for driving extraction grids and deflection plates for electrostatic modulation of particle beams in time-of-flight mass spectrometers and accelerators.
DSEI 2017: Integrity and security cited as watchwords
Products selected from its range of over 650,000 products from leading suppliers were showcased by Farnell element14 at DSEI in London (September 12-15). Peter Birks, Business President of Farnell element14 says: “We understand that integrity and security within the supply chain is vital for this sector and it is because of this that we have been developing our proposition as a BSI EN 9120:2010 certified and franchised distributor for the a...
Waveform analysis tool helps validate performance of complex devices
The DeepMeasure analysis tool is included as standard with Pico Technology’s PicoScope 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000 Series oscilloscopes. It delivers automatic measurement of waveform parameters on up to a million successive waveform cycles. Results can be easily sorted, analysed and correlated with the waveform display.
Isolated oscilloscope designed to measure high voltage
An isolated high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) four-channel 200MHz 14-bit oscilloscope has been introduced by Saelig, the Cleverscope CS448. It has been designed to measure high voltage, fast slew-rate signals such as those in a full or three-phase power electronic switching bridge (e.g. gate drives to measure voltage and charge, power switching to measure loss and parasitic stress, output signals to measure power and spectrum for EMC compli...
Chipset enables advance in oscilloscope architecture
After years in developent Rigol has released the Phoenix Oscilloscope chipset and the Ultravision II oscilloscope architecture. These technology innovations will allow Rigol to address the needs of higher performance applications. There are three chips in the Phoenix chipset (each named after stars in the Phoenix Constellation).
Drivers add advanced trigger functions to oscilloscopes
A PicoSDK driver package installer has been released for Pico Technology’s PicoScope oscilloscope and PicoLog data loggers for Microsoft Windows. This release adds drivers for the latest PicoScope 2000A and 2000B models and the PicoScope 4444, as well as various fixes for other drivers.
ECOC display addresses 400G test challenges
The latest in optical test innovation for data centre networking will be showcased by Tektronix at ECOC 2017 in Gothenburg (18-20 September). Tektronix will bring back its Open Technology Forum again this year as part of its stand, hosting industry experts from leading research and commercial companies to discuss the trends and opportunities for emerging optical communications designs.
