Partnership aims to integrate security technology
Intrinsic ID and Barco Silex have announced the companies are partnering to offer their customers the benefit of integrated security technologies by enabling the use of Intrinsic ID’s BROADKEY or QUIDDIKEY in combination with Barco Silex’s ESECURE.Intrinsic ID’s BROADKEY and QUIDDIKEY are secure key management solutions that dynamically reconstruct on-chip secret keys without ever storing those keys.
IGBT gate drivers reduce discrete components count
SCALE-2 IGBT gate drivers from Power Integrations are in stock at Mouser Electronics. These flexible insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) gate driver cores integrate commonly required driver functions — including galvanic isolation, protection, and DC/DC conversion — in a single module.
Gate driver IC supports and protect 1700V IGBTs
PCIM Europe 2017: Power Integrations has expanded its Scale-iDriver family of galvanically isolated single-channel gate driver ICs.
Surface mount isolated current transducers have an integrated current conductor
PCIM Europe 2017: LEM introduces the GO series, expanding its miniature, IC transducers range for AC and DC isolated current measurement up to 300kHz.
Digital flexes muscle to adapt for next gen
A panel discussion, Developing the Next Generation of Power Supplies at PCIM Europe looks at what is needed next and how this can be achieved.
Silicon photonics transceiver displayed at OFC 2017
At OFC 2017, the largest global conference and exposition for optical communications, imec presented a 896Gb/s silicon photonics transceiver of a few mm2, targeting future Tb/s optical links. This achievement highlights the scalability of imec’s iSiPP50G silicon photonics platform, paving the way for next-gen short-reach optical interconnects.Driven by exponential growth for interconnect bandwidth in datacenters, single-mode optical transce...
IC power integrity solution offers faster turnaround times
Cadence Design Systems has announced that Juniper Networks achieved first-pass silicon success for its largest System-on-Chip (SoC) design with hundreds of millions of instances on the latest FinFET process using the Cadence Voltus IC Power Integrity Solution. With the Cadence solution in place, Juniper yielded faster turnaround times and improved signoff accuracy when compared with its previous solution.

In mass production, the Kionix ultra-low current MEMS Accelerometer KXTJ3-1057 from Willow Technologies operates with tiny current consumption down to 1.5uA at 0.781Hz Output Data Rate (ODR). Other modes available at higher ODR of 25Hz and 50Hz, offer the design engineer ultra-low 6uA & 10uA current consumption options, saving on product battery life, extending device usage between charges.
Joint partnership enhances SoC security
A collaboration has been established between Imagination Technologies and Barco Silex through which the two companies will develop IP for secure system-on-chip (SoC) platforms based on Imagination’s MIPS family of processors. Imagination will integrate Barco Silex’ eSecure solution for embedded security into a new Trusted Element (TE) IP product. Imagination’s licensable TE will enhance security for customers’ connected de...
Graduating from embedded world with honours
The first day of last week’s embedded world exhibition in Nuremberg saw the embedded AWARDS ceremony recognise the most innovative development related accomplishments in the hardware, software and tools categories. Dr Roland Fleck, the Managing Director of NürnbergMesse, and Professor Matthias Sturm, the Chair of the jury, handed over the prizes.
