Power sensor lined up for MWC 2018 debut
The R&S NRQ6 power sensor from Rohde & Schwarz operates in a frequency range from 50MHz to 6GHz. It can perform band-limited continuous average power measurements – i.e. measurements on a selected transmission channel – up to a signal bandwidth of 100MHz.
Software supports latest sub-6GHz 3GPP 5G NR standard
A planned expansion of the Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A software to support the new 3GPP 5G Sub-6 GHz New Radio (NR) RF measurement standards has been released by Anritsu. The enhanced 5G Sub-6GHz NR Uplink Tx Measurement and Downlink Waveform File software options will support non-signaling based 5G Sub-6GHz TRx tests.
GaN power amplifier covers 300MHz to 6GHz spectrum
The HMC8205 gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier from Analog Devices is now in stock at Mouser Electronics. Covering the 300MHz to 6GHz spectrum, the highly integrated wideband MMIC radio frequency (RF) amplifier provides significant benefits for system designers of applications such as wireless infrastructure, radar, public mobile radio, and general-purpose amplification test equipment that require pulse or continuous wave (CW) support.
Europe gets ready for 5G trials
As a plethora of 5G network trials are being announced across Europe, the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance (DSA) has released the preliminary agenda and speakers list for its Sixth Annual Global Summit (1st to 3rd of May, 2018). Held in Europe for the first time since its inception, the Summit will explore a range of topics from universal affordable connectivity to 6GHzfor broadband services, and millimetre wave bands.
Download speeds of 2Gbps demoed using LTE modem
Anritsu says it has worked with Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm,to successfully demonstrate peak download speeds of 2Gbps. The demonstration uses a mobile test device, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X24 LTE modem and a network simulator using 5x carrier aggregation (5CC) with 4x4 MIMO, and 256-QAM modulation on all 5 carriers.
EMC measurement solutions feature at EMV 2018
At EMV 2018 in Dusseldorf (Feb 20-22), Rohde & Schwarz will present its customised solutions for EMC measurements in all areas of product development, from the R&D phase to certification. A turnkey test system for certification testing in line with RED as well as complete systems for immunity measurements will also be on display.
Quick connect attenuators have frequency ranges from DC to 6GHz
Provider of RF, microwave and millimetre wave products, Pasternack, has released a new line of attenuators for quick mating and easy installation. Typical applications include DAS systems, remote radio heads (RRHs), base stations and antennas.Pasternack’s 23 new quick connect attenuators are available with QMA, QN or 4.3-10 connectors for easy mating. These attenuators support operating frequency ranges from DC to 6GHz.
KP Performance Antennas welcomes ISP Supplies
Manufacturer of wireless internet service provider (WISP) antennas and accessories,KP Performance Antennas, has welcomed Texas-based ISP Supplies as an official reseller in North America.ISP Supplies joins KP’s growing distribution and reseller network, partnering to expand the company’s sales channels in North America, while also providing value-added services for customers.
Power rail probe bandwidth increased to 4GHz
Power supply quality is a key factor in the functionality and performance of sensitive electronic circuits. Embedded designs with incorporated RF modules face the additional risk that RF signals are coupled onto the power rails of sensitive electronic components such as microprocessors, fast memory components and sensitive analogue circuits, impairing the functionality of the device.
Embedded oscilloscopes debut at embedded world
Three oscilloscope series, the R&S RTC1000, R&S RTM3000 and R&S RTA4000 will be debuted by Rohde & Schwarz at embedded world 2018 in Nuremberg (February 27-March 1). These oscilloscopes are equipped with cutting-edge technology, a smartphone-like touchscreen and many more features.
