Intelligent LED headlamps will make nighttime driving safer
Research project focuses on adaptive forward lighting systems to increase driver and passenger safety. Adaptive forward lighting, in other words, glare-free camera-controlled headlamps that react instantly to changing conditions at night, will be helping to keep drivers and their passengers safer, as a consortium of high-tech automotive heavyweights design and build additional intelligent functions. The key to this complex functionality is the i...
Image Processing For OLED-On-Silicon Sensors
For some time Fraunhofer COMEDD integrates organic light emitting diodes (OLED) in combination with sensor devices in silicon. Thus we are able to develop various customized sensor applications. These sensors can be used e. g. in industry, medicine or the biotechnology sector. The processing of the resulting data is essential for the use of these sensors in the different fields of applications.
SiC Maintains Growth Despite 2012 Power Electronics Downturn
Yole Développement announces its SiC Market 2013: Technology and Market for SiC Wafers, Devices and Power Modules report. Yole Développement’s report focused on the entire value-chain, covers all SiC applications in low, medium and high power ranges and provides all metrics up to 2020. It also includes a Bill-of-Material analysis, to compare Silicon vs. SiC-based system costs, and a cost reduction roadmap for SiC devices.
