BLE ver.4.2 ICs offer enhanced security & low current consumption
Toshiba has announced the launch of two ICs supporting Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) ver.4.2 communications, that match industry leading low current consumption realised by previous products while offering an enhanced security function. Like previous products, the TC3567CFSG and TC3567DFSG realise a peak current consumption of 3.3mA at 3V voltage supply in transmission mode by adopting a highly efficient DC/DC converter and original low-power circuit...
Power management IC for car audio systems
A new system regulator IC has been launched by Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) that is designed to handle the increasing sophistication of car audio systems. The TCB010FNG is a fully-featured solution, incorporating the required power supply and all essential detection functions.TCB010FNG incorporates a multi-rail microcontroller power supply that retains power during minor interruptions in the battery supply. The device also includes multiple v...
ICs offer low class current consumption and enhanced security
Two new ICs have been launched by Toshiba Electronics Europe- TC3567CFSG and TC3567DFSG. The latest additions to the company’s line-up of high-performance devices supporting Bluetooth Low Energy ver.4.2 communications match the low current consumption delivered by its previous products while also offering enhanced security functionality. Both ICs realise a peak current consumption of just 3.3mA at 3V supply when in transmission mode, through...
Compact NVMe SSDs offer up to 1TB capacity
A new line of NVM Express (NVMe) SSDs have been launched byToshiba Electronics Europe (TEE). Integrating 64-layer, 3D flash memories, theXG5 series offers up to 1TB capacity in a compact M.2 form factor. Starting today, OEM customers will have access to limited quantities of qualification samples with shipments gradually increasing in the second half of 2017.
40V/3A stepper-motor control IC ensures quieter running
Toshiba has begun sampling a 40V/3.0A stepper-motor control IC that requires no external current-sense resistors, and hence enables more economical and compact drives in equipment such as printers, office machines, surveillance cameras, banking terminals, banknote identification machines, and home appliances. Further new features increase efficiency, reduce heat generation, and enhance accuracy at high speeds.
MOSFET selection for cordless power tools
Ease-of-use is driving the growth of cordless power tools in professional and DIY (do it yourself) applications. Michael Piela and Keisuke Kaganoi, Toshiba explain how MOSFETs deliver higher power and extend operation in smaller form factors Toshiba at PCIM Europe 2017: Stand 9-301
Design platform improves productivity and cycle time
A formal, streamlined and automated co-design and verification flow between the Cadence Virtuoso platform and Allegro and Sigrity technologies has been announced byCadence Design Systems, the Cadence Virtuoso System Design Platform. This higher level of integration enables engineers to design concurrently across the chip, package and board.
Data Centre SATA SSD suits value-endurance workloads
Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced the HK4, a new enterprise 6.0 Gbit/s SATA solid-state drive (SSD) series designed for read-intensive and value-endurance workloads. The HK4 Series is Toshiba’s first SSD for enterprise and data centre applications to embed 15nm MLC NAND flash memory and offers low latency tuned for high quality of service (QoS).
1,3A LDO regulator drives efficiency in mobile devices
Toshiba has announced the industry’s smallest1.3A output current CMOS LDO regulator for mobile device power supplies. The TCR13AGADJ offers a typical dropout voltage of just 92mV (at 0.9V, 1.0A) and is supplied in a WCSP6F package measuring 0.8x1.2x0.33mm (max). The regulator can be used in a variety of applications including WiFichipsets for smartphones and tablets and power supplies for cameras and RF modules.
Bluetooth LE IC delivers low current consumption
The TC35678 IC from Toshiba Semiconductors is now available at Mouser Electronics. Achieving industry-leading low current consumption with long operating times, the single-chip device is compliant with Bluetooth core specification 4.2. With the ability to store application code in embedded flash memory, the TC35678 can be run with or without an additional host microcontroller for small Internet of Things (IoT) and Bluetooth Smart applications.
