TDK Corporation has announced the DTM165 series of medically certified 165W external power supplies. Rigorously tested to the 3rdedition of IEC 60601-1, the products have 4,000VAC isolation from input to output and earth leakage currents of less than 300µA.The series is intended to power a range of hospital, dental and healthcare products for monitoring, imaging and diagnostic applications.

A team of scientists from Hokkaido University and TDK in Japan has developed a method to improve the insulating properties of the oxynitride perovskite SrTaO2N for potential use as a ceramic capacitor.
