Oscilloscope probing techniques for measuring power supply ripple
When evaluating a power supply, engineers need to check the amount of ripple and noise present in the output voltage and the response of the output to load transients. Careful attention to measurement techniques using an oscilloscope probe, and applying suitable conditions for transient tests, are essential to ensure an accurate assessment. R&D helps speed industry adoption of USB4 standard
Early research and development by Keysight Technologies’ in high-speed digital technology will enable the 5G and IoT device ecosystems to accelerate adoption of the recently released USB4 specification. The company was active in the timely publication of the next-generation USB4 specification by the USB Implementers Forum(USB-IF).
Troubleshooting DDR3 memory interfaces
When designing circuits with DDR3 SDRAM modules, developers need solutions for checking the signal integrity on high-speed data lines. The new R&SRTO-K91/ R&SRTP-K91 oscilloscope option offers several tools - decoding of read and write cycles, display and analysis of eye patterns, and automated compliance testing for the DDR3, DDR3L and LPDDR3 standards.
Motor drive analysers leverage oscilloscope platform
The MDA 8000HD Motor Drive Analysers launched today (October 1) by Teledyne LeCroy leverage the WaveRunner 8000HD High Definition Oscilloscope (HDO) platform of eight analogue channels, 12-bit vertical resolution at all times, up to 5 Gigapoints of acquisition memory (1.25 Gigapoints on all eight channels), 10 GS/s sample rate, and bandwidths up to 2GHz.
Analog front end reference design for high-speed oscilloscope
This reference design provides a practical example of interleaved RF-sampling analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) to achieve a 12.8-GSPS sampling rate. This is achieved by time-terleaving two RF-sampling ADCs. Interleaving requires a phase shift between the ADCs, which this reference design achieves using the Noiseless Aperture Delay Adjustment (tAD Adjust) feature of the ADC12DJ3200.
Considerations for designing wide-bandwidth multichannel systems
Next-generation aerospace and defence and test and measurement system bandwidths are moving from 10s to 100s of megahertz to multigigahertz of instantaneous bandwidths. Trends in phased-array radar, 5G wireless test systems, electronic warfare and digital oscilloscopes are pushing bandwidths higher and dramatically increasing the number of channels in a system.
Rohde & Schwarz prepares productronica push
productronica is a home fixture for Munich-based Rohde & Schwarz and the company will field an array of solutions covering Industry 4.0, test and measurement for production and development, and automatic production test systems.
Software plug-in hastens double pulse testing
Double pulse testing in less than a minute is now possible on the Tektronix AFG31000 arbitrary/function generator with the availability of a new software plugin. It saves significant time compared to alternative methods.
Designs for oscilloscopes with low noise clocking
High speed digitisers, low noise clocking, high speed signal chain and low noise power are critical elements of high performance oscilloscopes. The integrated circuits and reference designs from Texas Instruments help you design high-speed and high-resolution next generation oscilloscopes.
