Offering vibration strength in electrolytic capacitors
Characterised by high levels of power density and integration, automotive electronics and highly integrated power electronic systems are increasingly being positioned in direct proximity to combustion engines. As a result the electronic components are subjected to significant combined electrical, thermal and mechanical loads.
2500W AC/DC supplies suit tight spaces
TDK has announced the introduction of the RFE2500 series of AC/DC power supplies. Rated at up to 2500W output power, the units are available in three output voltages, 12V, 24V and 48V. Featuring screw terminal and bus-bar connections, this very compact series does not require an additional plug-in rack or backplane making it ideal for space-constrained industrial, communications and test & measurement applications.
AC/DC power supplies offer efficiencies of up to 94%
TDK has announced the introduction of the TDK-Lambda CUS200M series of AC/DC power supplies. With efficiencies up to 94%, the series can deliver 200W with convection cooling or up to 250W with 1.5m/s airflow. The units, packaged in the industry standard 3x5” footprint, have both medical and ITE certification to the IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60950-1 regulatory standards.
Transponder coils for automotive applications are compact
Series of EPCOS z-axis transponder coils for passive entry, passive start (PEPS) car access systems have been presented by TDK Corporation. With their dimensions of just 7.7x7.4x2.65mm the components are extremely compact and feature a very low insertion height. The B82451L*E402 series comprises seven transponder coils covering an inductance range from 1.0-10.0mH.
Programmable power supplies are RoHS 2 compliant
The programmable and power supplies series from TDK Corporation are RoHS 2 compliant. The TDK-Lambda Genesys 10kW and 15kW series and all models that have an output voltage between 30V and 1500VDC and those with less than 30V output (with an input voltage of 208VAC or 400VAC) now carry the CE Mark in accordance RoHS2 Directive 2011/65/EU in addition to the 2014/35/EU and the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU previously covered.
Modular power supply series features lowest acoustic noise
The introduction of the QM series of AC-DC power supplies announced byTDK Corporation; the first 1,200W to 1,500W rated modular series to have full MoPPs isolation, with the lowest acoustic noise available on the market at that power level.
Power inductors for automotive electronics applications expanded
Further expanding its CLF-NI-D series of rugged power inductors is TDK Corporation with its new types coming in three additional sizes: CLF5030NI-D with dimensions of 5.0x5.3x2.7 mm, CLF10060NI-D measuring 10.0x10.1x6.0mm and CLF12577NI-D at 12.5x12.8x7.7mm.
Are we on the verge of a worldwide battery crisis?
The worldwide battery market is currently undergoing something of a renaissance thanks to the growing demand for long-life, high power batteries across consumer electronics, industrial, military and the hybrid electric vehicles sectors. Neil Oliver, Technical Marketing Manager, Accutronics, discusses the future of the battery market.
Entry-level sensor has advanced diagnostic capabilities
The Hall-effect sensor HAL 18xy family from Micronas, a TDK group company, has been expanded with the introduction of the HAL 1860. This small, robust and cost-effective product also possesses output signal supervision capabilities.
Capacitors made robust from aluminium housing
Two new series of robust EPCOS Aternating Current (AC) capacitors have been introduced by TDK Corporation. Both the cans and the tops of the components are constructed of aluminium, making them particularly robust. All capacitors in the B33331 and B33335 series are CE-compliant, have both VDE approval in accordance with EN/IEC 60252-1 Class A and UL approval.
