Tekever and Get SAT collaborate in pooling and sharing comms project
Global aerospace and defence company, Tekever, and provider of micronised satellitle terminals, Get SAT, have collaborated in the framework of the SES-led European Space Agency project PACIS-1– designed to guarantee communication services to governments and organisations through pooling and sharing.
Satellite state of health: how space-grade ICs are improving telemetry circuit design
Because satellites on space missions are inaccessible once launched, acquiring accurate telemetry data to monitor the state of health of the satellite sub-systems can help set a baseline to indicate a working system, while fluctuations can indicate failures. Two examples of sensitive components would require accurate monitoring of voltage, temperature and current are the radio-frequency (RF) power amplifiers and thermoelectric coolers. In both ap...
Small satellites, big advances
TI’s high-reliability space-grade power-management devices are helping power the next generation of smarter, smaller satellites, enabling NASA engineers to better understand our universe
Rohde & Schwarz unveils phase noise analyser, VCO tester
High speed, real-time phase noise measurements using sources require high stability in demanding applications. To meet this requirement Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the FSPN noise analyser and FCO tester.
Mechanical engineers in the power plant, automotive, and aerospace industries
Mechanical engineers make things work the way they are supposed to work, and they are inventors and innovators.Mechanical engineers design and develop valuable technologies and machinery that advance our communities and improve our way of life. These products range from sports cars to prosthetic limbs and 3D printers.
Easier access to precise GNSS positioning performance
Two GNSS correction service receivers and the firmware-upgraded ZED-F9P high precision GNSS receiver enable easy and scalable solutions to achieve reliable centimeter-level accuracies in seconds.

Modulators for Laser Communication in Space
LASER COMPONENTS supplies iXblue Photonics’ electro-optic lithium niobate (LiNbO3) modulators. iXblue has a continuous presence in space across its Astrix product range of 3-axis fibre-optic gyroscopes (FOGs), opening the way to supply space grade components, such as passive and doped fibres, as well as phase and amplitude modulators.
Marathon Des Sables runners benefit from satellite tracking
Globalstar Europe Satellite Services hasannounced thatSPOTdevices will track and safeguard all athletes competing in the35thedition of MARATHON DES SABLES (MDS),the world’s most extreme running race. Globalstar has for the sixth time been named Official Tracking Partner for this year’s event, taking place from 1st-11th October 2021. MDS did not take place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finnish satellite sends 75GHz signals from space
The W-Cube nanosatellite sent a signal on the high frequency range of 75GHz on 31st August at 16:21 Finnish time. The signal was received by the ground station in Graz, Austria. The satellite, ordered from Finland by the European Space Agency ESA is broadcasting the signal using a radio beacon system developed by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Germany's Fraunhofer IAF.
